Enjoyable
So glad Cocks and Morgan went back for a second glimpse at Bex's life. The plot twists hit even on a #reread, and I love the addition of Daphne to the Lyons party and the Queen becoming a Cubs fan. #womensfiction

I read the prequel long before the Meghan Markle fiasco when I was fully #TeamKate. Now I‘m not so much #TeamKate, but I still loved the book enough to enjoy the fictional version of the British royal family.
My only quibble about it is that there are enough hints about Bex‘s feelings for Freddy that I started to doubt her feelings for her husband, which is not what I want in a romance.
Once again, this book wasn't what I expected. It was more serious than I would have anticipated, centering on trust issues & infertility, which made for a heavier & less fun story than the first. On top of this, the characters were disappointing & didn't make a whole lot of sense given where they ended the previous book (although the Eleanor plot was super funny). Both provide some really good emotional payoffs, but I probably wouldn't reread.
Not nearly as fun as The Royal We and at times, somewhat meandering and dull, The Heir Affair is a solid enough read for quarantine.
Good story about the royal family of Great Britain but not. This group from the grandmother to the two grandsons are fictional. Secrets and royal life! What more could you want?
This sequel is just as good as the first, but it‘s easy to fall into if you‘d like another escapist follow-up with the same characters.
The story continues to be cute but was about 200 pages longer than it needed to be.
Had to listen to this twice because the nonlinear narrative had me mixed up the 1st time (didn‘t help that I spaced out at the beginning). Good story. Would not mind a 3rd book 😊
Just as much fun and royal hijinks as the first book.
How every baseball fan feels in the postseason. While my Yankees made it farther than I anticipated this season, I truly missed my postseason traditions with my friends who I‘ve had nearly this exact conversation with on multiple occasions.

1. YA, romance, science fiction, fantasy, I just love so many types of books.
2. I don't know about favorite but I reread the Vampire Academy series the most. I love a lot of series (Twilight, Outlander, Mercy Thompson, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, so many more).
3. This is a hard pick! Also worth a mention: On the Come Up. House of Earth and Blood. Beach Read. A Song of Wraith's and Ruin. The Night Swim
Woah, that was a plot twist!
Long but incredibly entertaining. Slightly absurd in some places. I love these characters.
Another #24B4Monday #readathon is over. I completed one book and started another. Managed a total of 8 hours and 32 minutes of reading this go around. Considering all that I had going on, I‘m happy with that number. #acourtofthornsandroses #theheiraffair
When the series you‘re reading names a character after your favorite font. #GaramondForever
We were just talking about other fonts that would make good names @TheAromaofBooks —it looks as though the authors were ahead of us!
Kinda wish I had reread The Royal We before starting this follow up since it's been 5 years, but the authors do a good job reminding readers of the angst in the middle of the triangle and what has happened before. This large, four act near tome is the fan fiction of post wedding bliss through the start of Bex and Nick's family. I gave the first book 3☆ but definetly give this one 4☆.
Soapy & just what I was expecting. I read the 1st book last year & it sucked me in. The 2nd installment jumps right in & is fun & frothy while still providing a good plot. Eleanor is particularly tart & we get a chance to see the cracks in everyone‘s foundation.
“It was the most in tune we‘d been in weeks; such a small, perfect moment, one that I knew even then to hold close to my heart for the times when everything around us would get darker.”

WOW! I felt like this was an insider look into a royal family. How they are just normal people with problems that tend to be amplified by the public perception. All day in a fish bowl. Nick and Rebecca hooked me in the first book with much more love for them added in this one (book two).
July Book 12/20 #LitsyLove
I know I am a little late on the mid-month recap but here goes. My bestie showed me a girl on Instagram who tracks her reading in calendar form. I got curious about what my July would look like so far.
I knew I had read A LOT so far this month but 😳😳😳😳😳😳 #midmonthrecap #LitsyLove
4/5
This sequel is every bit as fun as The Royal We. It starts off right after Bex and Nick are married and dealing with the fallout of the scandal. As Nick and Bex start their life as a married couple more struggles and secrets from the Lyons dynasty are revealed.
I really enjoyed this book, and even though it had been a year since I read The Royal We, I was immediately drawn back into that world.

I was so excited to receive this ARC because I loved the Royal We. The Heir Affair takes off right after the doomed wedding of Bex and Nick. Life proceeds to have its ups and downs for the couple. I had so missed Freddie, Bea, Cilla, and Baz so much. All the characters were back in action. Secrets were aplenty, and the damage they caused was a rollercoaster ride. Thanks to Grand Central Pub and NetGalley for the ARC. I loved it! 5 shining stars!
Thanks for the tag @MoonWitch94 !
1) My current read, The Heir Affair. The shenanigans make me giggle.
2) Beach Read. All I will say is the letters... 😭😭😭
@bio_chem06 @smarkies and @cheshirecat913 if you want to play along!
