Hi friends! Missed you all. Life is good, just very busy. I'm hoping this week is quiet since everyone will be busy filling their bellies for Thanksgiving.

A few weeks ago I paid a visit to the Nowhere Bookshop in San Antonio. There's a cute mural on the outside of the building and, of course, I had to treat myself to a new tote and books. They even stamp them with the bookshop's name if you'd like. (Yes, I very much like! Thank you!)

Finally visited Nowhere Bookshop in San Antonio! I‘ve ordered from them online but what a charming, interesting store to poke around in! Owned by author Jenny Lawson, it is filled to the brim with books, puzzles, and bookish fun! #indiebookstore

Field trip day with @Soubhiville down to San Antone to visit Jenny Lawson‘s lovely bookshop. I really loved this shop - it‘s small but it‘s got a great selection of books that felt tailored to me (so dangerous!) - and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would def visit again (tho my bank account needs to recover a little bit first) 😂📚💜

It wouldn‘t be right for Jenny Lawson to have a bookstore without and taxidermy in it! This was in a quiet corner near the someday-to-be-a-cafe area (planned for post-pandemic times.). I love the portrait her costume is modeled after on the other wall!

I am so very excited for this! I‘ve been watching from day one as they found the space for the store, renovated, stocked, and couldn‘t open due to COVID. What rotten timing! I‘ve been a member of their bookclub Fantastic Strangelings, discovering some really cool books and attending virtual author discussions. And they are finally ready to open to the public this coming week! I‘ll be going in early August sometime, cannot wait!

Texreader @Soubhiville Yes! There‘s a close by vegetarian restaurant in the Quarry. I‘ll get the name from my daughter as she‘s eaten there. All in my neighborhood so if we both have time we can an early meet up. 4y

Had a weekend adventure to San Antonio and decided to get curbside pickup at Nowhere Bookshop. Can't wait for that bookstore to be officially open! Hope it is the next time I visit.

Texreader @JenReadsAlot Yes you must do the river walk (lots of great shops and food) and the missions (of which the Alamo is one). Taking Broadway from downtown there are four bookstores off Broadway in about a five-eight mile stretch: The Twig (at the Pearl), Half Price, Cheevers, and then Nowhere, which is close to my neighborhood. The Pearl area is for the young and hip, although I get there occasionally. It‘s awesome. 4y

Morr_Books @Texreader I'll definitely let you know the next time I'll be there. Hoping to get there in the fall (have family there), when hopefully the bookstore is officially open. I think I'm traveling north for the summer though. It is just too hot right now to wander around. 4y

Morr_Books @JenReadsAlot I go to the Riverwalk everytime I visit San Antonio. Normally we stay on the Riverwalk though it has gotten pretty expensive now. There are lots of great TexMex options for food there. I also finally did the inside of the Alamo, had brunch at Liberty Bar, played games and listened to live music at Alamo Beer Company and visited the Natural Bridge Caverns (30 min north of San Antonio) 4y

Morr_Books @JenReadsAlot October should be a much nicer time to go. It was very hot already and the Riverwalk was packed. 4y

Morr_Books @Soubhiville I was very impressed by the Natural Bridge Caverns as well. I'm sooooo excited to hear that Nowhere Bookshop is finally going to be fully open. It looks really amazing inside (from what I could see thru the window - like a peeper). I'm hoping to visit again in the Fall when it is nicer to wander around. 4y

Nowhere Bookshop was supposed to open this year, but has not due to COVID-19. The store is shipping and also filling curbside orders through their website though. I finally placed an order for stickers, postcards, and a t-shirt, along with a book for a gift, and picked it up today.

The store looks beautiful from the outside and I felt a little sad as I left today. I look forward to being able to go in one day.
