Blind Date with a Book Boyfriend
Blind Date with a Book Boyfriend | Lucy Eden
7 posts | 6 read | 18 to read
Hi, I'm Jordyn. I flew from New York to Culver City, CA to interview for the job of a lifetime.
When I walked into The Bookstore, I only wanted a steamy romance or two to help pass the time before my big meeting.
I walked out with a gorgeous and sweet, cinnamon roll who was more funny and charming than all of my favorite book boyfriends combined, which definitely wasn't the plan.
But Mike was irresistible, and the time we spent together exploring Culver City was more fun than I've had in a long time.
But I'm smart enough to know if something feels to good too be true, it probably is.
I mean, Happily Ever Afters are just for fairy tales and romance novels ... right?

Wasn't vibing with Wind In The Willows (might try again someday), so I am trying this book out. I have put it on my #BookSpin list a couple of times. Gunna give it a go since its only like 3 hrs long. Should be able to finish it tomorrow if not tonight.

Oh and I got the other 3 books done on my TBR for May. I think that was the quickest I have ever read 3 books (in a 2 weeks).

Scrolling Instagram is both the worst and the best… Notably, a bookstore in Nelson, posted about a whole slew of blind dates with books that they had just wrapped up - and it showed up in my feed. And I wanted one. And I live no where near Nelson. But those wonderful humans told me the title and when I ordered it from them, they sent their wrapped version. Delighted! I‘ll put the title in a spoiler comment below.

Ruthiella I would be strongly tempted by that “pick up line” too! 2y
janeycanuck @Ruthiella I know, right? Clueless meets Agatha Christie? Sign me up!!! 2y
AvidReader25 Oh my gosh, that sounds amazing! Definitely checking my library for it. 2y

I totally did not start this at lunch and then continued to read it at my desk by covering it up with reports. Not.at.all. 🤫😉😆

A cute, fast-paced novella-length romance. Bonus, it mentions quite a few romance books.

Book 4 for #AwesomeAugust

#integrateyourshelf POC author and MC + some LGBTQ+ representation in a minor character

julesG Just imagine you'd read it while on duty. Good thing you didn't do that. 😁😁😁 I'll have to stack it. 3y
TheSpineView I've never done that either! 🤣🤣🤣 3y

This trilogy of novellas was just what the doctor ordered. Some insta-love, super alpha shifter, and a best friends romance. Not too much fuss with this but such great reads. Read each of them if you have the chance! #romantsy

I flipped the brown paper-wrapped book over and tested its weight.

Jordyn and Mike were a cute couple. This was a sweet novella that I read in one sitting. A nice tribute to romance novels, Culver City, romance, The Ripped Bodice bookstore, podcasts, and oh yeah, romance. The novella also celebrated diversity, and women in technology. Eden created an enjoyable book. I can see reading more of her work. I even liked the author‘s note at the end of the book.
