pickThis was a great book! I love stories set over the course of a day, and watching the misadventures unfold was funny and also heartwarming. I love the 2 main leads and the audiobook was fab. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
bailedI read the description of this book and thought it would be way more political than it was. It‘s pretty short so I figured I would just finish it, but the whole two points of view both first person thing was a deal breaker.
This is the most recent book I‘ve finished that has a green cover. This was a great YA book about two high school students who want to vote for the first time. I really liked it.

pickIt was pretty good. It just flew by and was a welcome distraction. I also liked how it didn‘t get too political or try to tell you who to vote for.
This is a quick read that covers a lot. Marva is a teenager passionate about politics, pets, and racial inequality. Eager to vote, she arrives early and overhears a peer‘s struggle. We see Mia grapple with the breakdown of her relationship, the possible loss of a pet, and her desire to make the world better. In Duke we see loss, the outlet of music, and being a young black man in America. This is an important and attainable read to a generation.

New Brandy Colbert out today! I too was excited to vote in my first election on my 18th birthday—Nov 4 2008 (though I did get to vote in the primary because I would be 18 by the general and was registered.) I did not get a meet-cute out of my excitement but I did get Obama so.
