My Thriftbooks order came in a few days ago. My kiddo and I are having a ball going through the cookbook. I got the 1978 edition (pictured) and it is completely fabulous! Tonight, we are watching the movie and planning all the tasty things we will make. 😁

My first mystery books were The Happy Hollisters & Trixie Belden, followed by Nancy Drew. The Nancy Drew books were mostly my older sister's-so she kept them-but this copy of The Nancy Drew Cookbook published in 1977 was mine. I've even cooked from it a few times--like the Brass Bound Trunk Candy pictured. I do buy old Nancy Drew books when I find them in good condition & they're favorites or ones that I didn't read.
I'm so tired my eyes are giving out but I am happy to report that my cookbooks are unpacked! Yes, that's a garage shelf in my kitchen but I'm the practical (thrifty) type! 👍🏽

I'm passing on my Nancy Drew collection to my cousin's oldest daughter. I have to say, it is quite difficult to let it go but I know that she will love the series in spite of its many flaws and begin a passion for girl detection as those before her have done! The nostalgia is palpable. Would I love Agatha had I not first explored the world of mystery with Nancy? Perhaps, but you never forget your first brush with crime! Solving them, I mean...🕵🏼
