I have been solidly dodging those bingos! Might have to choose a book deliberately with a ring or fire...

This second chance romance was great! And yummy hockey players to boot. The first in a series, so I'll def check out the rest bc I loved Sarina's other hockey series too 😍 #romantsy

Also, my first full book on my new Kindle and I'm in love! I may have excitedly placed way too many library holds that I may regret when they all come in at once, but I'm having too much fun to care 😄

CarolynM I love Sarina Bowen's books❤️There's a bonus epilogue for this one on her website. (edited) 6y

I forgot to keep track of time for #24monday 🤦‍♀️it is crazy cold out today but we're fishing in an ice tournament. We're staying in the truck to keep warm so I get to read :) This was a really great second chance at love novel. Hockey hotties and no annoying tropes. Great pick @Jas16 😘

Jas16 I love Sarina Bowen. So glad you enjoyed it! 6y
BethM @Jas16 I'm def going to see if I can get some from my library! 6y
Jas16 I have the next couple of books in the series. I can drop them in the mail for you this week 6y
BethM @Jas16 you're just so sweet. Have you ever read Kristan Higgins? I have a bunch I could swap you. 6y
Jas16 No need to swap at all. I am happy to share my love for her books. 6y

Attempt number two at steamy sports-related romance was much more successful. 👍🏻

Hockey is my second favorite (after baseball, of course). This book was much better written/edited than the baseball book, not cringey, and had characters I actually liked. Clearly the plot was entertaining, since I stayed up too late and read the whole thing today. And the sexy times were hotter in this one, too! 🔥

⭐️⭐️⭐️

gradcat I love that there are a lot of baseball-loving littens here!! 6y
intothehallofbooks I love Sarina Bowen!! 6y
CarolynM Another Sarina Bowen fan here. Her hockey romances are so much fun and much better written than many others. If you like m/m I'd also recommend Avon Gale 6y

“How did two healthy people produce as many tears as they did? By ducking all the important stuff,”

Yep I think this sums up the root of their problem. This was a fun read..I was giggling and laughing all the way and some moments that squeezed my heart. The h is the one who's broken and he made her whole again. A feel good book for me.

I ❤ happy endings. But I don't mind if the story wrecks me a little first.

It's Friday, so fun t-shirt day at the library I work at. And just starting Rookie Move. I have no interest in real sports, but love me a sports romance.🙂

MarriedtoMrT Ha! Same. Give me the testosterone side-effect without the actual watching of the sport. 8y
Chachic I'm exactly the same! Not interested in sports but I love sports romance. And Sarina Bowen's books are so good. 8y
EloisaJames I'm bored to death by TV sports but love them in the page. I just read another horrible article about football and brain injuries, though, so a little afraid I might lose my ability to enjoy footballers! (edited) 8y

I'm home sick for the next two days so I picked some steamy romances to get through the pain🤧 I really enjoy Sarina Bowens books. The Brooklyn Bruisers is a spin off of the Ivy Years series which I absolutely loved. I'm also a huge fan of Lorelei James and haven't read the Need You series yet so there's one perk of being home sick. Binge reading!

DebinHawaii Hope you feel better soon🤒 8y

I generally read anything Sarina Bowen; The Year We Fell Down is still one of my favorites. This one didn't excite me as much, but it was sweet. Leo was a sweetheart and Georgia was kick-ass. I didn't feel the heat in this one though.

MrBook Belatedly, welcome to @Litsy ! We hope you enjoy your stay 😊👍🏻. 8y

How I'm spending my Friday night! Coffee, my book, and my favorite jammies. Does anybody else like to take notes while they read? I love taking notes while I read, especially since I'm in the middle of too many series. Makes it easier to keep track of all of the characters and storylines.

quirkyreader I do. I annotate the crap out of some of my books. 8y
reading.in.brussels This book surprisingly didn't retain my attention for long. I dnf'ed it. I think it's because I've read better sports-romance books. 8y
reading.in.brussels Oh and I never take notes! And never read more than one book at a time. 8y
BooksPieAndCoffee @s-banon really?? I LOVED it! This was my first Sarina Bowen book and def not my last. And I am too an avid sports romance fan. Yes, it's not the best of the genre, but I throughly enjoyed this one and can't wait for the next in the series! ❤️ I don't read multiple books at a time either, but because I read so many books a year, especially series, I tend to mix characters, tropes, and storylines up so I like have notes for a refresher! 😊 8y

(3 stars) Three Thoughts 1) Didn't enjoy as much as other Bowen reads as just didn't really feel the chemistry between the leads 2) whole thing with coach made no sense and wasn't resolved well 3) an ok read just not a great one

One of my September picks for the Washington Post romance column. Hockey players & second chance at love. Extremely sexy. Sarina Bowen is good at her job. #romantsy

Overall, I liked this book. If you like hockey romances I would definitely give it a shot. I did not think that this was particularly unique for the genre though. I also felt the first half dragged a bit. But about halfway through I was fully invested. This is a series that I will certainly keep up with. The writing is good as well! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📚🚗☀️

Such a great start to a new series! It had great hockey scenes, tension, and romance! Sarina Bowen writes a sexy, angsty romance, which I love. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

MeganB I LOVED her Ivy Years series, so glad to see this was good too! Can't wait to read it 😆 8y
DarcysBookBlog Two of her characters from the Ivy Years, DJ and Lianne, make an appearance, so that was fun! 8y
