I was expecting familiar vibes from the movie How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days- but this really aligned closely to it! There is the gender swap- this time the man is the journalist assigned to lose his girl, and event planner Hannah is mixed race, but that‘s about all that set this apart... The sexy stuff felt awkward to listen to and some of the slang made me grimace more than grin- I guess I wish I had just watched the movie again! #AudioColoring

Cute romcom which was basically how to loose a guy in 10 days.

An enjoyable romance, but did not love-love as much as other romances I have read recently. This one is a riff on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, but here it‘s the man who‘s a journalist at a lad mag and the girl is an event planner who wants to be taken seriously. To be honest it mostly made me want to go re-watch the movie.

I read this one as a #LMPBC pick back in December, but unfortunately it was just not for me. I did not care about either of the mains (too self-absorbed and immature), and the language was simply too crude for me (unnecessarily so).

Disappointing gender swapped redo of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days that just seemed mean spirited.

Listen. LISTEN. I love romance hijinks as much as the next person. But when the two protagonists are dumb dummies whose problems would be fixed if they simply talked to each other, I just...lose interest. “Not the Girl You Marry” is a stupid retelling of “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” Just rewatch the movie-it‘s better

For anyone who loved “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days“ you will like this book, fast forwarded a few years and with a different twist but the same basic plot line and happy ending.

Reminded me of Bet Me, so of course I enjoyed.
Bonus points for the Chris Evans reference.

A bit of a creaky hand rec - the whole thing is sort of irritating but hey I had fun and that's worth something!

I thought it was a fun book, it followed a lot of tropes though so I wouldn't say it was shocking. However, I wanted something lighter and this was a good fit.

This one was on my TBR for ages so I was excited to finally get around to it but man, WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. This is essentially How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days but in reverse. Not a bad place to start honestly but throw in a grossly insecure female and the authors propensity to overuse the phrase "dipping their wicks" and it's derivatives in reference to sex and you've got a hot mess.

Going into this I knew nothing except that it looks like another cute rom-com, and I wanted to read it since I almost always love them all. Little did I know that it was a gender-swapped version of my favorite movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Most books that are comped to big name books and movies have relatable elements, not a rewrite of the exact same plot. This felt like a wannabe fanfic. How is this even legal? 👇🏼👇🏼 Rant continues..lol

Too weird that Kate Hudson plays an Andie and the author of this book is an Andie too???

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is one of my all time favorite rom-com. So when I heard that this book was a role swap I knew I just had to read it. I don‘t want to give away too much with it being my pick for this round of #LMPBC but I really enjoyed it. I can‘t wait to hear what you all think of it!

Man of man it has been one of those kinds of days. Between the two year olds I teach biting and not keeping their hands to themselves and one of them yelling “bye butt crack” to one of the dads as they left the classroom. I am tired and ready to go home. Here is to some relaxing with my romance pick for this round of #LMPBC.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is one of my favorite rom-coms, so I wasn't surprised to love this book. It's a great, modern retelling of the story.

I loved all the characters and thought there was a lot of potential for sequels about the side characters, that I would love to read.

This book is a present-day gender-flipped How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days and... that‘s pretty much it. While it did add a new diversity element of Hannah being biracial and dealing with people who judge her for that, this didn‘t feel that much more modern or fresh to me than the movie.
