I have now finished this series. I will miss Uhtred, but know that I will revisit this series. It has drawn me forward all year and I have loved the characters, the relationships, the drama, the history/way of life, and pace of the novels. Will miss Finan too and their humor and loyalty. So happy Uhtred was reunited with Steapa in this book. I feel free - free to pursue other books. Awesome series.
“I am Uhtred. Son of Uhtred.” And so ends the Saxon Tales — a fantastic series. Uhtred is an old man. An aged lord. The war lord who wishes for nothing more to never stand in another shield wall, and who must defeat his enemies with more cunning than brute strength. A pagan who must most unwillingly fight for a Christian Engaland. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Talk the talk. Walk the walk. Gotta drop this “I don‘t live in NYC anymore” weight.

Decided to save the final installment of Bernard Cornwell‘s Saxon Stories — War Lord — for this year. I will be sad to say goodbye to Lord Uhtred at this conclusion of this 13th novel. Lucky No. 13.

Probably a great book but heavy on war and battles (what did I expect from a novel entitled "War Lord"? ?) Just not my kind of thing.
War Lord provided a satisfying end to the saga of Uhtred Uhtredson. It‘s not the most exciting or intriguing chapter of his life, so but it meets the need to say goodbye.
*Screeches in eardrum-shattering high pitch*. It‘s here! After avoiding spoilers from the UK for a month and a half, I finally have the last of this incredible series on my kindle. I‘m excited and sad to live the last of Uhtred‘s story with him.
Is FB messaging an author to get an advanced readers copy of the last book in my favorite series and offering my first born child in exchange too much?
