If you like literary-themed soy candles, please check out Frostbeard Studio. They are a small handmade business & are having a slow year. I have quite a few of their candles & can attest that they smell delicious.

If someone asks me #AboutMarriage I always hear it in my head as “mawwiage” & I have Peter Cook as The Clergyman in The Princess Bride to thank for that… 💍🤷🏻♀️
“Mawwiage. Mawwiage is wot bwings us together today. Mawwiage, that blessed awangement, that dweam wifin a dweam. And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva. So tweasure your wuv.” — The Clergyman
Princess Bride!
Also: Misery/the Shining, Hogfather, and Coraline.
I wonder if I can find Hogfather to buy on Amazon or if it still holds up 🤔
I don't think I've ever seen the film (I know shocking), nor read the book before (even more shocking). I might have liked the book more, had I read it 20-30 years ago. Goldman's ramblings were annoying and the story just wasn't that exciting. But, I'm glad I eventually got it off #MountTBR.

Finished weaving in the last ends while starting the tagged book (30th anniversary ed).
My camera plus the overcast/rainy weather make the colour look strange. It's the colour of cinnamon sticks - brown not red.
Love the texture of the shawl. It's large, longest side of the triangle is about 2.80 metres.
Pattern: Severn by Trin Annelie
Yarn: Wollmeise Lace (I think the colour is called Teddy)
No reading today, but it was my birthday and I celebrated by watching one of my favorite movies with my kids and having a delicious gluten free peanutbutter chocolate cookie!
⚔️ A Classic Tale of True Love & High Adventure ⚔️
I read this once when I was a teenager. I forgot about the Zoo of Death, but other than that this was a fun, enjoyable reread. This illustrated deluxe edition also features some lovely artwork.

▪️Got over five more hours of reading done.
▪️Read the first half of The Princess Bride.
Attended the #DSO concert on 2/15/23 with Sir Knight and a couple friends (@WonderingGypsy ) They played the score while the movie played above them! And excellent way to celebrate Valentine‘s Day!!! ❤️
From the sublime (my grandparents' marriage certificate from 1910) to the ridiculous: a hilarious quote from The Princess Bride:
Mawage is wot bwings us together today. Mawage, that blessed awangement, that dweam wifin a dweam. And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva. So tweasure your wuv.

1. So many! Including “inconceivable!”, “This must be Thursday. I could never get hang of a Thursdays.”, “Beware of Doors”, “people being fundamentally people”
2. “Well that didn‘t go as planned.” 😆
Thanks for the tag Lisa!
So. Much. Nostalgia! I loved every minute of this book. It didn't really add to the movie or give any details we didn't already know. I enjoyed the humor and often found myself laughing out loud. It made me love the movie even more! Very lighthearted! This book was something I could sink into after a long day, escape into, and laugh along the way. It is definitely worth the read, especially if you loved the movie

Always loved and a fun book to share with Beatrix on our commutes. I had forgotten how closely the film stuck to the text - most of the dialogue is lifted straight from Goldman. A gem of a story and film.
35 years ago today, a movie you may or may not have heard of came out in theaters. In honor of this day, please let me know your favorite quote from this fabulously amazing movie or the book, I am not picky!!
Here are mine:
Movie: As You Wish (anyone surprised?!?!)
Book: Do I love you? My God, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches. (Westley has a way with the words, does he not?!?!)
September 4 #IndelibleMoments Marriage 💑 This has the be the best movie ever. It is one of the movies I can watch over and over again. @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs
I liked the book, though I will say, I didn't expect the movie adaptation to be as faithful to the book as it was. That meant I enjoyed it, but also made me a little sad that there wasn't much more to the book than what happened in the movie. I plainly skipped the "foreword" and whole "abridged" extra sections at the end, because they felt boring and didn't add anything to my experience. I would still recommend the book, but only the main parts.
I first read this when I was too young to really appreciate its depth, but I still enjoyed it. I read it again as an adult and was blown away to realize all that I had missed. The movie is a cult favorite, but the book is a masterpiece: humor, satire, adventure, drama, action, and romance!
I am SO FREAKING THRILLED with how our Princess Bride cover turned out! We gave our artist few free reign and once again she delivered!
We'll be at Motor City Comic Con in Detroit this weekend, so stop by if you're attending.

Finished reading this one with my oldest. Never read it before but love the movie. Son loved it too.
Known as the most haunted place in Alabama, Fort Morgan is not truly a #dungeon, but it did put me in mind of the Pit of Despair. Fortunately, Wesltey was rescued and Miracle Max had the cure. #SavvySettings @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs

Finished this one up last night. I'd say it's long overdue, but better late than never. A fun listen with Rob Reiner reading it.

Day 111.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
Hmm, I don't get my latest Goodreads recommendation. 😆🤔
"Don't think, just read it. You'll thank me later", that was the first review I saw on goodreads about this book. Obviously, I didn't 'just' read it, in fact it's been on my tbr for months. But now that I've finally read it, all I can think of saying is this: Don't think, just read it.??

You're doing great.

1. Tagged. Really, this movie is just about as perfect as can be. An adaptation of a book where a storybook is the focus. ❤️
2. No, because Hollywood usually screws it up. I‘d rather just read the book.
Ughhh I‘m not enjoying this, the more I read , the less I like it; I got most of the way through it and just decided life is too short; I think it‘s different than the movie, I don‘t like how the characters are portrayed, especially buttercup.. so off I go to another book.. so long to this one
