Had a news alert about Kīlauea‘s (active volcano on The Big Island) continued erupting pop up this morning leading me to the live YouTube channel to watch https://www.youtube.com/live/oG5zz9Sjw3E?si=HIdNw6vshRzNM-va (where the photo is from) & that inspired today‘s haiku.

Note: The easiest way to pronounce Kīlauea is kee-lau-ay-uh, so 4 syllables.

Kīlauea rains,
Flaming showers of lava
Kīlauea reigns.

Kilauea: Hawaii's Most Active Volcano | Kathy Furgang

Not book related, but I couldn‘t resist sharing this with everyone. Kilauea volcano has been quiet for just over 2 years and roared back last night, erupting and starting to spew lava. It‘s only inside the crater in the national park currently and has a long way to go before/if it goes anywhere else. This is the glow from the lava tonight. The USGS Twitter feed has some awesome video if you‘re interested.
