Ahh I‘m so close to finishing #tenbeforetheend!
But both of the books I have left are real chunksters! 835 and 509 pages! I don‘t know if I can finish either in 5 days!

I finally got through the 2nd book in this series! I started it in June and then life got in the way (and other books). So I started it again in November and then finally finished! It‘s a low pick because it took me so long to get into and finish. Idk if it‘s suffering 2nd book syndrome but I also don‘t really care or believe the romance. I am definitely looking forward to book 3 though!
#serieslove2024 Book 2 of the drowning empire series picks up with Lin as Emperor but tons of rebels trying to usurp her. Lots of betrayals and politics as Lin tries to hold onto her reign and help her people, all while uncovering the secrets of the Alanga magic. This one was slower than the first book but I still have to read the next one as I can‘t get enough of Jovis! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I found this one a little slower than the first. There's a lot of time spent on the politics which I didn't hold my attention. Still one of the best fantasy worlds and one of the most unique magic systems I've ever read.
Next row of my #readinglogsnake is The Bone Shard Emperor. I am a fan of the Drowing Empire series and felt this was a good follow up to the first book. The magic system is interesting, but there are still alot of items that are still a bit hazy in explanation. Maybe they will become clear in the next book. 4/5 ⭐️ #ARRCReads #BooksAndCrafts
🎧 The second book is the biggest of the trilogy.
The Emperor is dead. Lin finally takes the throne but her problems are just beginning. She‘s not trusted & her politics are weak.
A rebel army of constructs is organizing and the leader wants to take the throne by force,
A group of legendary powerful magicians have returned to Lin‘s empire to make things worse or help restore peace?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 2 of The Drowining Empire. This series has a fascinating magic system and wonderful main characters in Lin & Jovis. However, this second book definitely drags in sections. By adding more character‘s perspectives it lost my interest. Every chapter that strayed from our two protagonists made me want to put the book down. However, the last 1/4 of the book is epic and I look forward to more in this world. 3.5⭐️
#20in4 2 books done! #bookspinbingo
Shamefully late review for one of the best books of 2021. 🙃

I think it‘s time to catch up on some sequels. 😅

Book 2 of the Drowning Empire series was just as good as the first. Lots of characters, great storytelling, and a few surprises along the way. I cannot wait to see what comes next!
I flew through book one and I‘m almost half way in this one! Can‘t believe I waited so long!

December is always a busy month for me at work, so I‘m pleased I managed to read this much. Especially considering two of these were over 600 page chunksters.
Best of the month was The Bone Shard Emperor. I also loved Making Money and Bewilderment.

❄ The Bone Shard Emperor by Andrea Stewart! It's the second book in the series and is so good!
❄ Gallant by Victoria Schwab, The Bone Shard War by Andrea Stewart, Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn, This Wicked Fate by Kalynn Bayron, the new Ruth Ware book, and the new Riley Sager book! There are SO MANY amazing books coming out this year! ❤📖❤
Loved this just as much as the first one! And now I‘m wishing the third was out because of the ending 😱.
I love Andrea Stewart‘s worldbuilding, and her characters, and that there are animal characters! The magic system is original, there are floating islands, and the kinds of bad guys who you feel maybe could have been good guys if the situation was slightly different. Good stuff!
Yes there is an ostrich on my tree. 🤗
Lin‘s challenges against her claim to the throne mount as she deals with a hesitant people, calculating governors, a rebel army, & awakening artifacts. She has to decide if she‘ll follow in her father‘s footsteps or forge a new path.
Lush worldbuilding, fascinating magic system, and interesting characters! A lot of POV switching, which took some getting used to, & the romance didn‘t land for me, but I‘ll be looking forward to the 3rd! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
I‘m not really ready for it to be December, but I made my #bookspinbingo list anyway. 📚😊 Count me in @TheAromaofBooks !
Today is officially a perfect Saturday! 😍🥐🥓 My town had a winter holiday market in the town square, and I got fresh honey, croissants, and apple cider donuts! 😋 And to top it all off...IT'S SNOWING! ❄⛄❄ Not a lot, just enough to make things beautiful and cozy! Got some snacks, tea, my cozy blanket, and starting this fantastic book! Suffice to say, my afternoon is all planned out! 💕📚💕
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THESE LOVELY BOOKS! 🎉🎉🎉 Sooooo many exciting books came out today! 💕📚 I'm probably going to start with the tagged book, since the first one in the series is one of my favorite fantasy books I've read this year! 😍
