Perfect for fans of Stephen Kings IT, a group of friends return to their hometown to confront a nightmare they first stumbled on as teenagers in this mesmerising odyssey of terror. An atmospheric, haunting page-turner, full of memorable characters and sublime terror, from the author of Come with Me For nearly two decades, Jamie Warren has been running from darkness. He's haunted by a traumatic childhood and the guilt at having disappeared from his disabled brother's life. But then a series of unusual events reunites him with his estranged brother and their childhood friends, and none of them can deny the sense of fate that has seemingly drawn them back together. Nor can they deny the memories of that summer, so long ago the strange magic taught to them by an even stranger man, and the terrible act that has followed them all into adulthood. In the light of new danger, they must confront their past by facing their futures, and hunting down a man who may very well be a monster.

Loved this - old school horror with a very King vibe. Thanks to Jessie and Barbara for the birthday present last year (we always get to them eventually!). The spare one is going to another litten next week.

BarbaraBB I don‘t even remember what I sent you last year but it‘s always good to have a nice amount of unread books to choose from 😘 7mo
TrishB @BarbaraBB it definitely is 😁 7mo

Really enjoying my current read- but had little to no time for reading again! It‘s very ‘King‘ like and I haven‘t read this author before so I‘m guessing I‘ve found some new books 😁
This was a birthday pressie from lovely littens nearly a year ago!

Addison_Reads I loved this one and all the King vibes. 7mo
TrishB @Addison_Reads have you read any others by him? What would you recommend? 7mo
Addison_Reads @TrishB I have read some others. Ghostwritten is a collection of 4 novellas by him, and I absolutely loved it. I also really enjoyed Come With Me, which is more psychological thriller than horror, but such a great read. I think you'd like them both. 7mo
Balibee146 This reminded me I have Come With Me waiting on my shelves - which would be prefect for the change in seasons 👍 7mo
TrishB @Balibee146 might have a look at that one too 👍🏻 7mo

We‘re going on vacation in few days and I plan to do some book shopping while we‘re there. I‘m hoping to visit an indie bookstore in the area. So I‘ve been thinking about some books I‘d love to add to my collection. And no shocker they‘re horror novels. 😉

But I also need some recommendations so drop your favorite horror novels in the comment.

mollyrotondo Can‘t wait to read Silver Nitrate. I also like Black Mouth. Malfi‘s Come with Me was soooo good 9mo
Coueriamb I‘m halfway through Silver Nitrate and it‘s real good so far! T. Kingfisher has some great novels/novellas- and Grady Hendrix is like reading an 80‘s slasher if that‘s more your speed! Tagged Kingfisher ‘cause I liked that latest more lol 9mo

This was intense! As others have said, it‘s very similar to a Stephen King or Joe Hill story, which is great because I LOVE them! It‘d about childhood trauma and guilt, addictions, and a big dose of the supernatural thrown in. The ending was also quite touching, which I wasn‘t expecting. I‘m really becoming a Ronald Malfi fan! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Addison_Reads Great review! I was a big fan of this one too. 11mo

I think Ronald Malfi is growing to be a favorite writer of mine. This book was a mixture of Joe Hill N0s4a2 and IT. Jamie Warren is Home.

Interesting. Engaging. Starts out with 3 teens finding a magician in which teaches them magic in which leads to drama. Years later they find him again but he hasn't aged.
This was more of a crime thriller with a supernatural touch at the end.

One of my favorite horror reads this year. This book had It vibes, which I loved. It's classic horror with a modern feel.

@adventrecommends @emilyrose_x

vivastory I keep meaning to read this one. I was halfway through another Malfi & really enjoyed it but I had to return it to the library due to someone else having a hold on it 1y
Addison_Reads @vivastory That was my first Malfi and I loved it. Now I'm hooked on reading anything he writes. 1y
Reggie I read the first novella of his 4 novella book like a week ago. It was pretty good. The one about a maybe possessed book. 1y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really liked this newest Malfi book. I loved Come with Me. This brings a little more horror elements to the story. It does a good job taking the IT plot line and giving it a different spin and a very creepy main villain. Definitely recommend the audio for this one.

This was one of the best horror books I've read in several years. It has great atmosphere and character development. It reminds me of early King in scope, yet the instances of dread and horror are all Malfi's own. It's also a great book for Word Search points.

I have a bad cold going into #Scarathlon2022. I‘m reading slower because of it and starting a little early in the hopes of finishing this book on October 1st or 2nd. I‘m loving it so far. It reminds me of early Stephen King and still 100% Ronald Malfi. I feel like I‘m cocooned in a sleeping bag by a roaring fire, hearing a campfire story. There‘s dark magic on the wind.

A book by a very talented author at the top of his game, this is a masterpiece.

It grabs your attention from the start and keeps you enthralled until the end, I just love his writing style - it reminds me of early Stephen King.

'Black Mouth' is a very atmospheric read that I enjoyed every step of the way.

The characters were well-developed and likeable.

A must-read for horror fans!

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

In June I only read 25 books, which is low for me, but I had a lot going on including a few nights in the hospital.

I still managed a few Bingos though and read some great books. The tagged one was my favorite. #BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

May July be a great reading month for all of us. 💚😁

Addison_Reads Trust and Hummingbird Salamander were only DNF because I had to return them to the library before I finished. I will finish them both as soon as my hold comes through again. 2y

Loved this one!

With similarities to It and Boy's Life, my horror loving heart was quite happy while reading this one. A traveling circus comes through bringing The Magician, a man with a devilish desire to coerce kids to do things they shouldn't. The story is told in both past and present as childhood friends fight to save other kids from the traumatic things they were subjected to.

TW: child abuse and animal abuse

Addison_Reads @TrishB @vivastory @Reggie I think you all would like this one. 2y
TrishB Stacked 👍🏻 out next month here. 2y
TheNeverendingTBR I've only read Come With Me, but it was excellent. 2y
Addison_Reads @TheNeverendingTBR That was my first read by him last year. I've been trying to find older books by him since then. This one was an ARC that comes out this summer. I think you'd enjoy it. 2y
