#TheLockedRoom #EllyGriffiths #BookSpinBingo #SeriesLove2024 #September2024

I enjoyed reading this book even though it was about the pandemic and covid. Elly met a new neighbor, Zoe, who went missing. Everyone was in locked down and Nelson was home by himself. Michelle was visiting her mother and when Michelle came home she told Nelson that she wants to have a talk. We will need to read the next book in order to find out the results of their talk

EadieB Nelson spent most of the nights through covid with Ruth so Nelson is ready for the talk with Michelle. When Zoe was found her big secret was exposed so you need to read this book in order to find out Zoe's secret. If you love secrets with your mysteries then you will love this book. Find out if Cathbad is a victim of covid. Will he survive or does he die? Read this book and find out. 2mo

14th and penultimate book in archaeologist Ruth Galloway series finds an investigation halted in 2020 by the covid lockdown. The story around the pandemic is done well evoking that surreal period in everyone's lives and through one of the regular characters the physical effect of the virus. I'll be sorry to finish the final tale.

When the Covid lockdown is imposed, Nelson's team are looking into the suicide of a woman who apparently put a meal in the microwave and then took an overdose of sleeping pills. Examination of the records showed a string of similar suicides with mild discrepancies.

I found the mystery and its solution improbable and was far more interested in the affects of Covid and lockdown on the characters.

A Michigan August sunrise pic for your morning. I finished the Elly Griffiths Ruth Galloway series last week and now I‘m rereading the final two books because I read them in a state of suspense, afraid of how it would end. But they ended perfectly inmho, and now I‘m going to savor them. The penultimate book is set during the pandemic and it‘s terrific. The mystery, the setting, but most of all the characters. ☕️ and a book for my morning.

AmyG Lovely. I can‘t wait to head back to Michigan in a few weeks. 1y
MittenGirlPeach @AmyG a perfect time! The weather should be lovely. We had a dry May & June but a wet July & August—everything is lush and green these days. 1y

Another mystery featuring my favourite archaeologist Ruth. Set in Norfolk at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Not sure I like reading about such recent events. 😏. Anyway it was an ok read . Just one book to go and I‘m up to date with Ruth and her life.

This was ok, I never read any of the previous novels in this serie, so some of the characters and background kinda got lost in the beginning… but it was manageable. Parts were interesting, like reading abt life in early pandemic, but it just wasn‘t very exciting for me. I hear there‘s a twist and all, but I didn‘t feel particularly motivated to finish this one

This is number 14 in the Ruth Galloway series. I'm happy that they haven't gotten stale. Covid lockdowns have hit Norfolk, and between keeping Katie occupied, teaching classes online and having a new neighbor, Ruth is stressed. Nelson is investigating several suicides that may not be what they look like. And Cathbad is the first of Ruth's friends that gets sick.
And there's a very intriguing ending, so the next one is a must read!

Mehso-so

The Locked Room was the 14th installment in this series but it was the first for me. I was not a huge fan and in seeing the other reviews, clearly in the minority.

It was just an ok read for me. It takes place at the start of the pandemic and I felt like Covid overshadowed the mystery plot(s).

Thank you to William Morrow and NetGalley for an advance eKindle addition in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn‘t ready for a book written during and incorporating the pandemic, but it was so good! My main thought running in the background the entire time, was, please don‘t let any of them die (find out for yourself). Suicide, kidnapping, lockdown, family, ghosts, obsession, and more. Next book, please! And hurry! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another brilliant story in the series. As much as the mystery was interesting, I must admit I was most invested in Cathbad, he's my favourite character in this. This deals heavily with Covid and the effects it had on people which was so relatable. The plot was interesting and threw up a twist or two along the way. But oh that ending. I need more now. Another great read. 4* book 1 read for #JubilantJuly

I love all the Ruth Galloway mysteries, but this is among the very best. An intriguing mystery set during the early days of the pandemic, it brings back all those conflicted emotions. I love these characters, and there‘s an intriguing cliffhanger, too.

Read this to review for a journal…. So I‘ll not say anything review-worthy but just comment that it was really strange personally to read a book set during the beginning of the Covid while actively having Covid for the first time, 2 years into the pandemic.

My #BookSpinBingo card for April. I meant to post this yesterday but I was finishing my last minute final book! I finished 14 books, my Spin & Double Spin, and got two bingos. I enjoyed all these books. I think the tagged was my favorite bc it‘s part of my favorite series. Black Cake and The Love Hypothesis are the runners up.

This is my favorite mystery series, so much that I get a copy from the UK so I don‘t have to wait for the U.S. publication. This one covers the early part of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was interesting to see how Ruth, Nelson, and all dealt with it. The police trying to solve a case during the lockdown was really interesting. As always, catching up with the longterm characters was my favorite part.

Despite the anxiety that began to course through my veins due to reliving the beginning of the pandemic all over again, this was another great entry to the Ruth Galloway novels. I really did start feeling panicky like when it began and that just testifies to the strength of Elly Griffith‘s world-building capabilities. I was very happy to be back with Ruth. I Always love it when Cathbad has a bigger role. I can‘t wait to see what happens next.
