My stats for #outstandingoctober I met almost all of my goals. I didn‘t finish the tagged book yet, but I did finish a few that weren‘t on my goal list! One of my goals was to get one bingo and I got two, so a total hit! 🎉🎉🎉 thanks for hosting @Andrew65
Amazon have copies of Skandar and the Unicorn Thief available at a great price of £4 at the moment. I thought it was an ideal time to purchase a copy for the Grandchildren. Added two other books to the order so I would reach the Free Delivery threshold.
"My mum says air wielders are extroverts. And they like change, and dancing, and noise - so basically they really love parties, whereas earth wielders..."
"Would rather stay home with a good book and a chocolate biscuit?"
"Exactly!"
It's me. I'm an earth wielder apparently! Who's with me?! ????
This was a fun middle grade fantasy. It‘s a story of teenagers bonding with flying unicorns in a way that reminded me of dragon stories I‘ve read, but it definitely has its own creative world building. The riders then train to fight and race against other pairs. There‘s also a bigger story of someone kidnapping unicorns and people. The book wraps up well while also creating the foundation for a longer series. I‘m intrigued to read more.
Amazing book that you cannot put down. If you think about the plot, it is predictable. Though you‘re probably having so much fun, you don‘t notice. Magic, unicorns and Destiny bonded together. Amazing world building. Can‘t help but think the Weaver is doing good in a bad way. Skandar and his quartets are a very diverse an interesting bunch. So different but so supportive. Let alone crazy unicorns. Pg 375 had me in tears because of the raw emotions
4✨ I going to be that equestrian nerd that states a unicorn doesn‘t have wings, so they probably should have been called alicorns, pegacorn, or unisus. As a middle grade book this was amazing! Very predictable to an adult, but the world that was built is unlike anything I‘ve ever read. I love unicorn story‘s and hope that the riders can communicate more directly in later books. The riders use their element to battle and race. #DoubleBookSpin
A fun middle grade read! There are elements that are reminiscent of other middle grade fantasies, but this book holds its own. Middle grade readers will likely be in love. It is fun, imaginative, & builds great tension & mystery for a continuing series. The characters are interesting with a great building dynamic. The writing is fun & light & the plot is easy to follow. I enjoyed my read quite a bit & I'm looking forward to where this series goes.
Okay, it‘s quite a mess. Here is my June #bookspinbingo #doublebookspin list for June. I‘m hoping to crush this TBR along with teaching summer school starting after a week off. 😅 @TheAromaofBooks
Taken a while for May books to show up. #currentlyreading #preview #mayrso2022, #middlefiction I am expecting much action and thrills.
