This one is not as good as the first one if for no other reason than the MC was not drunk or in the throes of a mental health crisis and thud there is no excuse for how much of an idiot she is. The whole why she is there also made 0 sense for Marcus to do, it‘s explained, it doesn‘t make sense.

If you enjoyed The Woman in Cabin 10 you will enjoy this. Characters from Cabin 10 are in Suite 11. Ruth Ware is a wonderful story teller.

After watching TV adaptation of The Woman in Cabin 10 I read a sequel to the first book.
Not too tense, entertaining and twisty. But the story felt dragged-out and Lo Blacklock was so annoying. And this obsession with iPhone adoration... 😕
I bailed on this one. I have read a lot of her books, and this is the first one I have bailed on. I couldn't get into it.

10-19-25: My 68th finished book of 2025! Sequel to The Woman in Cabin 10. Lo, Laura, Blacklock, living in NYC with her husband and 2 sons, 10 years after the events of Cabin 10, receives an invite to the opening of a new grand hotel in Switzerland. Hoping to score an interview with the owner and head of the Leidmann Group, Marcus, she accepts. What follows is the reappearance of an old friend, a murder, and the prospect of jail time for Lo.

Awww, this pic of little Ron is making me sad - the kittens went to the shelter to be adoptable today and I miss them! 😢
After drop off I mailed my (late, but should arrive Monday) #AllHallowsReadSwap to @MaleficentBookDragon
And @dabbe my box safely arrived yesterday (also late posting that bc it‘s been a crazy week) 😅

I have never read this author before, slow start enjoyed. I had ideas of things of what really happened and was correct. For that reason give it a 6/10. Finished 10/13/25

It‘s always a treat to pick up a book by Ware—perfect escapism, even if you kind of guess how things are going to go. I found I wanted to yell at Lo sometimes to be smart. Seriously, how many times can you keep second guessing yourself over a bad decision and yet still make bad decisions?!?
Fast paced and a good read for this time of year. #Zeke #CatsOfLitsy

Lo Blacklock—the same one who once braved The Woman in Cabin 10—is now a mother of two, living in the US with her husband ,She mostly does freelance work. Restless and eager to return to her career, Lo seizes an invitation to the press opening of a luxury Swiss hotel owned by a reclusive billionaire. But among the glittering guests, she meets faces from her past, pulling her into a storm of murder and betrayal.🎧

It‘s been a hot minute since I read The Woman in Cabin 10, and I was a bit worried that some of this might be lost on me, but there were recaps on the characters and events from the first book. It was a fun ride! Although it may have been a bit too long and most people could probably figure out the whodunnit (at least partially), I still enjoyed it.

The cast of characters were few so I trusted Lo to not be among the guilty. Lo makes decisions so bad that her character could easily star in a Hallmark mystery movie series. It was all so hokey but that didn‘t stop me from wanting to know the resolution. It was okay - another author I just can‘t quit.
This was longer than it needed to be, but it finally picked up halfway through. Some lines felt repeated, and the protagonist got on my nerves sometimes. Usually, I like this author's works. This one went on too long. The extra twists became tiresome rather than thrilling.

This is a low so-so. It was my least favorite Ruth Ware novel to date. I've loved all of her other work. But the women in this book were whiney, witless, and annoying, and I did not have the patience for it. Maybe it was better in print than audio. I love Imogen Church, but she can't do a New York American accent. The audio was over 15 hours long, and I slogged through it, leaving me disappointed.

Ruth Ware is always a fun, easy mystery read! It was interesting getting to see familiar characters again (although it‘s been a while since I read the 1st book) and to find out what they‘d been up to and where they were hoping to go. I‘m not going to lie, the mystery was extremely easy to figure out, but I still had fun anyways. I went back and forth between the ebook and audio and I really think the narrator did an excellent job! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was fun! But I have to say, none of it surprised me. I basically figured out everything that was happening. For me, that didn‘t diminish my enjoyment, but it might for others. I‘m also not a huge fan of Imogene Church as an audio reader, but she‘s perfectly matched with this book.

I can‘t decide if I should reread the first book again before I get into this one. Those who‘ve read this, do I need to?

Okay, I didn‘t need it. I already have a Paperwhite and a Scribe. But I love it! 🥰😍🥳💕 #KINDLECOLORSOFT

You know it's going to be a good day when a new Ruth Ware book comes out! 🥳🎉🎉🎉
Now let's hope I don't have to remember a lot about the first book - because it's been many years since I first read The Woman in Cabin 10! 😂
