It had been possibly twenty years since I read this series, so I hardly remembered anything plot wise. Still, some phrases popped out and jogged my memory. The graphic novel rendition has beautiful illustrations and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

“...each mistake has helped to cure me of some great shortcoming. The affair of the amethyst brooch cured me of meddling with things that didn't belong to me. The Haunted Wood mistake cured me of letting my imagination run away with me. The liniment cake mistake cured me of carelessness in cooking. Dyeing my hair cured me of vanity.... And today's mistake is going to cure me of being too romantic.” #fiasco #QuotsyJan20

gradcat I love this...the whole dialogue is so great! ♥️ 2d

A snow day nostalgic read and an excellent #GraphicNovel adaptation. Marsden is thoughtful in her choice of moments to include and at distilling them. I have a few quibbles about the illustrations (no pupils in characters' eyes was weird, and Diana isn't plump, the roads aren't red) but I did love the colour palette and the landscape and domestic details. It never mentions PEI as the setting. What are you trying to do American adapters??

Anne and Diana eating ice cream at the picnic. In general I really like the illustrations in this #GraphicNovel adaptation, but I am disappointed that Diana isn't beautifully plump with dimples in her elbows like Anne is jealous of in the original. I also find the artist's choice to not draw pupils in eyes a bit weird? I love the colour palette though and the expressiveness of people's faces. #AnneofGreenGables

LeahBergen I can‘t say I really like Anne‘s nose either! 😬 5d
CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian @LeahBergen Yeah that is a bit weird too! 5d

“I never like walking with a lantern. I have always the strangest feeling that just outside the circle of light, just over its edge in the darkness, I am surrounded by a ring of #furtive, sinister things, watching me from the shadows with hostile eyes. I've had that feeling from childhood. What is the reason? I never feel like that when I'm really in the darkness—when it is close all around me—I'm not the least frightened.” #QuotsyJan20

One of my favorite Anne books, I love the characters you meet in this book, delightful Captain Jim and the proud beautiful Leslie, and don't forget that hilarious man-hater Cornelia.

I was a skeptic at first. Only because I not only love the books, but I love the 80s miniseries with Megan Follows. BUT, I have fallen in love with the Netflix series, Anne with an E. And the 3rd season is tearing me apart! Ah..... I feel that my spirit is truly kindred with that of L.M. Montgomery.
