Pickpick

"The porous edge between hope and fear." One of the many turns of phrase I had to pause and think on. This novel is so rich with #music references. It may be off-putting to some readers & much was beyond my ability to fully appreciate, but I love his writing. Published in 2014, his mention of a likely pandemic and the inevibility of lab leaks is eerie. Bushwacker & reading at the beach bar on this windy day. #science #bookanddrink #involvesmusic

lynneamch @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @eggs Also have to mention this one for #MarchMagic #involvesmusic as I just watched the first two episodes tonight. Good so far. 2y
Eggs Sounds fascinating 🧐 Great choice. That drink looks delicious 😋 2y
SamAnne Every since Overstory I‘ve wanted to read his backlist. I think next might be Echo Maker. 2y
lynneamch @SamAnne Me too. This one was also achingly good 2y
SamAnne @lynneamch yes! Loved that one too. 2y

Starting this chunkster with my first outdoor read of 2022. It's a beautiful Spring evening where we are. Also enjoying a drink while I dive into the book.

#Bookanddrink Tagging this treasure from Karen Dionne, though instead of talking about her own books, she hosts these great conversations with other authors at Back Room. Still space available tonight at 7pm ET with Finola Austin, Melanie Benjamin, Greer Macallister, & Kristina McMorris. What a line'up! Details at https://bksp.org/register-2/

Almost caught up! The splinching scene is really cringeworthy, and poor Kreacher! They finally got on the same page. #potteraday #currentlyreading #bookanddrink

Clare-Dragonfly I feel so sad for Kreacher. 💔 I guess he doesn‘t blame them for abandoning him, as he might, since he shows up again later. 4y

This is a total #blameitonlitsy read. Hadn‘t heard of it before all the litsy love. Embracing my Canadian roots this afternoon and drinking coffee outside because it is sunny and the thermometer is in positive territory. Definitely the only person here that thinks temp in the high 30s Fahrenheit is good outdoor weather. #bookanddrink #bookandeat

Tamra I agree with you the 30s feel great and that is a lovely read! 6y
Blaire @Tamra ❄️ I love a sunny day with a nice chill in the air. 6y

When you can‘t finish a book in a “reasonable” time does it drive you crazy? It does me. I‘ve been in a terrible reading slump lately and all I want to do is finish a book. I have no problem starting, but it is TAKING FOREVER to finish, if at all. Any tips/tricks for pleasure reading in a busy, mind numbing schedule?•
