@Ruthiella @dabbe
I don‘t know if I like bourbon yet. ?
I did get an array of minis at the store the other night.
So I have more to try.
I‘m usually more of a margarita, Piña Colada, daiquiri, sweet dessert drinks, or prosecco person. ? ?
You know, a light weight. ?

Ruthiella Thanks for the follow up! I don‘t really drink alcohol at all - a light light weight - so I was curious! 8h
ImperfectCJ I'm not a huge fan of bourbon on its own, but I like it in a Manhattan or, even better, in a drink a local bar here makes called a Harlequin Racerunner. It's two parts bourbon, one part coffee liquer (Mr. Black's is what I use), a few splashes of black walnut bitters over ice, with optional orange zest. But I've been liking an aperol spritz or a negroni lately, maybe because it's getting warmer out. (As I chime in with my unsolicited opinion...) 7h
MaleficentBookDragon @ImperfectCJ the Racerunner sounds interesting. I‘ll have to look for those bitters. I‘m going to get some vermouth to try an old fashioned. I have a well stocked bar but don‘t use it much. I take after my dad. He built a really nice bar in our basement, fully stocked it, and barely drank anything. My sister & her friends would drink stuff & then fill the bottles with water. My dad never found out. I did, when I went to use rum in a recipe.😹 7h

ImperfectCJ @MaleficentBookDragon I've never made an old fashioned with vermouth. Interesting idea for the "sweet" portion of the drink. Seems like it would end up similar to a Manhattan. My parents had a dry sink stocked with liquor they got as wedding gifts in 1972. I think my friends and I finally finished the bottles up in the late 1990s (permissive parents meant we didn't have to fill the bottles with water ?). 7h
MaleficentBookDragon @ImperfectCJ you‘re right. I was thinking of a Manhattan. I tried Woodford Reserve tonight. I liked it better than yesterday‘s. 4h
dabbe I've never tried Bourbon on its own, and my tastes for drinks are similar to yours. But in a Manhattan? Whoah, baby! 😍 3h

A trilogy finish that‘s been on my tbr & physical shelves for way too long. Because it‘s been years😬since I read the preceding instalments so, this was basically read as a stand alone. I very much enjoyed it as much as the others. Strong characters with zing to go with a great storyline.

Overall, this was a pretty interesting and engaging story about the history of bourbon and some of the characters who helped shape it. I‘ve been going a bit overboard since having hit the bourbon trail in Kentucky last summer! 🥃 4/5

So my husband is a huge scotch, Irish whiskey, and bourbon fan so for this #internationalwhiskeyday here‘s a photo of the bottom part of our living room liquor cabinet which is actually an old bourbon barrel! He says his favorites are Lagavulin scotch and most bourbons and Irish‘s. My favorite drink is my Bloody Mary recipe if I want a mixed drink or Blake‘s peach party hard cider!

An okay romance book set in the remote Scottish islands, which also incorporates a back story. It was a pleasant enough story but felt it was just lacking something. Christmas was in the title but a quite minor part of the story.

Today is National Bourbon Day, apparently! So, am having one even though it‘s a Monday night 🥃

I‘ve been reading this book a bit at a time since forever, because it does put one in the mood for bourbon and I can‘t have that all the time 😂. It‘s informative though!

This book made me so hungry!! A sexy chef (also a former model and cult escapee) that always describes his cooking and shows his love through food? I wanted to marry him!

The MCs in this book were mature and always talked through misunderstandings instead of freaking out. There‘s friendship and family issues. But Lauren Dane has characters with all their flaws showing.
