Not my style. The writing is overly descriptive with too many metaphors. The mysteries span over so much time without many stakes to keep them compelling. It just didn‘t draw me in and became tiresome.

Glad I gave her another go. This was her first book and I have really enjoyed it. The characters are very real. Looking forward to reading more with the detective Cormac.

I somehow ended up putting the fourth book in this series on hold at the library (I think from a YouTube recommendation), but decided to return it and start at book 1. It was a good start to detective series, although all the more heartbreaking bc you really get to know the victim through flashbacks. Lots of twists and looking forward to the next book!
Currently reading for my book club. Enjoying it so far!

Hubby is getting a haircut, so I get some reading time 😊
I loved the setting, having just been to southern Sweden. However, I was indifferent to the main character, felt her professional nemesis was portrayed as an OTT irredeemable jerk, and didn‘t really care about the murder so I bailed without finding out whodunnit.
The body of a girl who has been missing for 30 years has been found, as well as the secrets that were buried with it.
Page-turner! I did not guess the culprit until the end.
#unpopularopinion I just can‘t get into this one. The personal lives of the detectives feel like needless distractions. I don‘t care about the case. I know it can‘t be as easy a solve as the current set up, so there has to be a big twist coming, but I find that I simple don‘t care. Plus, I almost cried when I saw how much of the book I had left to listen to. That‘s never a good sign.
