Perfect author for #AugustAuthor day. #FlashbackFriday to when we could safely go to a cafe and drink lattes and read. Long Petal of the Sea is the latest of #IsabelAllende books. I really enjoyed it. There was much for me to learn from the novel.

I give books five stars if I love them enough to reread them. While I‘ve never actually read it, I‘ve listened to the book multiple times on Audible. Holly also narrates, so that‘s a plus!

This is isn‘t a book of literary greatness, but she keeps you engaged and I love the Alice in Wonderland quotes throughout.

Glanced at the copy of Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver on my bookshelf just now. Met Maggie in 2008 & invited her to speak at several James River Writers events. Shiver was among the books that inspired me as I wrote Gidion's Hunt. I'd forgotten how Maggie signed her book to me.
