This is the first book I picked in my self-directed writing course syllabus. A longtime blogger and writer, with one self-published book to my credit, I‘d like to “get serious” about my craft. King makes me want to keep writing, and also gave me the smack down on adverb use. I loved both his memoir section, and the writing advice. My copy is covered in notes!

This is a lovely book about life transitions, and how starting something new like a yoga practice can help manage the necessary adjustments. It‘s funny, touching, and easy to read in one quick sitting. If you run across it, and like yoga, Yiddish, and a little genuine advice from a Bubby, then give it a go. My pick for #booked2019 #giftedtoyou prompt. Thanks to my cohost @Cinfhen for sharing it with me. I‘ll pass it on to my yoga teacher friend.
Okay, I think I‘m going to stick to what I planned in January for the summer season of #Booked2019 ... right? 🤪 I still need to read that #clifi prompt from last season. And my #booktomovie choice might be a stretch, but she‘s just so damn inspiring. I‘m definitely looking forward to ALL of these. #summerprompts #muslimauthor #diversemiddlegrade #graphicnovel #giftedtoyou
I can't!!! It's the first week of July and I'm almost done with #summer for #Booked2019!!!! 2 more prompts and my lined up books are tagged and TBD because I have a ton to go through. I was thinking A Confederacy of Dunces for #giftedtoyou because my husband gave me a copy after I gave away 3 different copies of my own... LOL
I am participating in #makemereadit again this year!
This stack contains the books I am considering squeezing in around my other July book plans (#crazyrichasiansbuddyread, mother/daughter book club, and Icelandic literature in preparation of our trip). They all fulfill a #pop19 or #booked2019 prompt. 😃
So, what should I read first? Vote for your top pick, and I‘ll read the ones with the highest votes!
Voting open until this Thursday.
I‘ve been a bit preoccupied by a certain fictional female assassin so I figured I‘d keep the fun going by reading about a female serial killer. This was particularly gruesome but the character development was really compelling. I‘ll definitely continue the series. #StartASeries Also this was my #GiftedtoYou pick for #booked2019. Thanks @eanderson !
I enjoyed this. Five women head out into the bush on a corporate team-building exercise, which turns out even worse than it sounds. Chapters alternate between the women‘s story and Aaron and Carmen, detectives with an professional interest in finding missing Alice. I particularly liked the backstories, the fact that their home lives were as messy as their work lives, & the sense of place. Only gripe - that cover is NOT where they got lost - is it?
