September is Ovarian Awareness Month, and this is my plea to every woman to make herself aware of the symptoms. Ovarian cancer is called the silent killer because the early symptoms are so subtle they can be attributed to other common issues. Because of that, women often go undiagnosed until it has advanced to a point that prognosis is grim. There is no lump to find, no screener to routinely give, no clear way to diagnose except surgery. ⬇️
A collection of humorous comic strips following two (and then more) friends in their messy lives and queer experiences. The characters are heartfelt, and I enjoyed seeing their relationships grow. This style of comic never really resonates with me, so I can't speak to whether it will resonate with readers. #LGBTQIA #Humor #Comics

If I had started this on a weekend and weren't also reading a Bob Woodward book about trump I probably would have finished this in two days. I love the author's humor, and as it turned out this was a great palate cleanser to read in the evening after reading a few chapters of the Woodward book each day.
Not quite the thoughtless diversion I first took it for, which actually makes sense, because the sharply satirical Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town is the whole reason I picked up another work by Stephen Leacock.
I'll admit some of these entries - it's a collection of ten short stories - read a little goofier than others, but once you realize it's as much a commentary on different types of classic stories as it is a collection of individual 1/?
My new (old?) definition of a comfort read: a book which “may bring some passing amusement...or some brief respite when the sadness of the heart or the sufferings of the body forbid the perusal of worthier things.“
I have a black cat now but I‘ve had plenty of gingers growing up.
