This book was more a collection of vignettes than a story, and I think it‘s probably better suited to reading all at once than a chapter a day. I could see myself reading it by the lake on a summer day not really caring about the lack of story line, just enjoying the strong sense of time. I try to like science fiction/fantasy, but I just don't.

I just can‘t connect with the material at all. Sometimes I enjoy uncovering lives different than my own, but her reactions to her martial crisis and giving up her child for adoption just don‘t make sense to me. Also, some points were belabored enough to drive me batty!

Seems like I chose the right #botm because I‘ve bailed on two others from the library!

I‘m just not feeling this. The premise is kinda cool - that the NYC boroughs are represented by avatars, but 30% in, I know I‘m not going to continue with the series. While the #audiobook narration is awesome, I‘m just not connecting with the material. I can‘t push through another 11 hours. #itsnotyouitsme??

I‘m up late, and I‘m trying to get into this for the second time. Her particular writing style is just not working for me. I can still return it, and it was rather expensive. Back it goes. #ItsNotYouItsMe 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just swapped out Theft By Finding for this audiobook🎧🤓David Sedaris was wayyyy too dark ( I don‘t mind the words P*ssy, ejaculation, bosoms or crotch but it honestly became too much. Not to mention all of his inappropriate comments/jokes. I was only an hour in and it was 1983) Sorry, David #ItsNotYouItsMe

It took me soooooo long to read this book. I should have DNF'd, but so many people love it that I needed to see what I was missing. Unfortunately, it was buried in so many metaphors that I could hardly find the plot. I'm sorry to anyone that loved it. #itsnotyouitsme

When you find yourself thinking, “I can‘t wait to finish this so I can move on to something else,” it‘s time to bail. Amber Tamblyn is a badass. No question about that. But this felt like a celebrity memoir regurgitating the events of the #metoo movement. What I wanted was a collection of insightful essays. Not to relive all the gross moments of the last few years, from a lens that was full of name dropping and unrelatable. #itsnotyouitsme
