Hello Stranger: A Novel | Katherine Center

I got a stack of books to taste test, some vanilla hazelnut iced coffee, spitz, and a plant that I will inevitably kill because I am learning that I do not, in fact, have a green thumb.🐛

Currently ignoring that stack for the tagged audio since my June goal is to #MoodRead, for purely statistical curiosity.😆 Who wants to start placing bets on if I‘ll read more or less than usual, have more 4-5 star reads, or even be able to resist a TBR?! Hah!

Ruthiella I‘d bet you will read even more than planned! 👍 1y
julieclair I am betting you‘ll read more than usual, will have the same number of 4-5 star reads, and will not be able to resist a TBR. 🙂 1y
marleed It is liberating to free oneself from the TBR for a month and let mood reading take over. 1y

Can we just talk about how sweet this book is?!?! 🥰🎃🌽🥧🍭#moodread #halloween #treat #scarathlon2021 #teamhendrix #screamathon2021 #spookoweenathon #anywayyoureadathon #wickedathon

Emilymdxn I am in love with this book! Just reread it yesterday 3y
Read-y_Picker @Emilymdxn this was my first time. I got so sad to find out that Josie and Déjà never spoke outside of the patch ? didn‘t even think it was a possibility given the dynamic between the two of them! 3y

I really enjoyed this HF imagining of Jesus‘s fictional wife Ana. Nowhere in any scripture is a wife mentioned but SMK really created a character who felt very much alive and real. It was clear how much research and time went into the writing of this novel as the details & historical content were stunning. Book did drag in parts and at times felt arduous but I appreciated the full saga & meticulous care the author chose. #FoodAndLit #Israel

FelinesAndFelonies This is my #doublebookspin this month and I've picked it up twice and I just can't get into it. I've heard from so many people that this is a fantastic book. I don't want to call it a DNF but it might be a "not right now". 4y
Cinfhen I definitely think this book falls into a #MoodRead category @FelinesAndFelonies it‘s ok to set it aside...I do think the narration in the beginning helped me become invested, maybe you can find the audio to listen to, that might help! 4y
Crazeedi I have this book and when I opened it a couple months ago, I read the first couple pages and said, maybe not. Definitely think I have to be in the mood 4y

TrishB I‘ll remember that! 4y
vivastory I had no idea that is what this book is about! The description reminds me a bit of this book by Naomi Alderman which I've been meaning to read 4y
Cinfhen Thanks for the reminder @vivastory I‘ve been meaning to read that book!!!! 4y

Finally got around to my #AprilStats Not a great reading month for me,
9 books total
2 audiobooks
1 non fiction
2 graphic novels
3 SciFi
1 lit fiction

Hopefully May is better, I always read more if I #moodread rather than try to read books on a schedule(for challenges etc). What kind of a reader are you? A Planner, a Magpie(reading the newest shiny book)or a Free Spirit?

TrishB Definitely mood reader, if I know I have to read a book I instantly dislike it! 6y
Aswenson Free spirit. I look at my TBR shelves and pluck one out that seems right! (I run a middle school and high school book club though, and have to read books for those each month. Not always my favorite.) (edited) 6y
Lindy @TrishB Me too. Sometimes I really have to psych myself up for book club titles that don‘t appeal to me. 6y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Nice job! 📖💖 6y
TrishB @Lindy exactly! 6y
