1- Haven't preordered in years. Just tried returning to mail ordering books, but waiting for their safe delivery drove me crazy 😂. While I WAS tempted to preorder the tagged book...I'm just going back to keeping a lookout for books wherever I may find them. Do miss having a bookstore, I use to have books preordered/ordered and held for me all the time.

Yes I know the preorder was a series lolol. I take more chances on stand alones, especially if it's a trusted author. Series I'm likely to let a few come out first.

1. I'll preorder any MUTTS book by Patrick McDonnell. When the COMPLETE SERIES of PEANUTS books were being published (they only released 2 a year for a total of 26 volumes between 2004-2016), I always had the next one on preorder.
2. I rarely preorder because my reading style is so mercurial. Except for the books mentioned in #1, I can't recall a time when I've pre-ordered.

2. Stand alone. I‘m more likely to read a stand alone based on preferences.

1) No idea! They just seem to keep arriving. Sometimes multiple copies. Someone yeeted the tagged book over my fence the other day. No recollection of ordering it! (Cool cover though)

2) Both. All the books. Probably preorder more standalones... a lot of the series' I'm reading have been completed and I'm working my way through already.

1. Tagged. So excited to read this one—the reviews I‘ve seen, unsurprisingly, are very positive.

2. Yes! 😂 I will preorder a stand alone or book in a series by an author I know. Also, an author I haven‘t read before if I see good reviews or am otherwise intrigued although I do this less frequently.

1) I‘m eagerly awaiting my copy of the tagged although I won‘t read it until its #CampLitsy25 week. I have also preordered the latest Louise Penny due in November. B&N often has 25% off preorders so you can get the book you want and tell your husband it was a great deal when it shows up 😂

2) Mostly auto buy authors although not many series lately

2. It depends - if it‘s an automatic author could be stand alone, if it is series I want to have and loan out, I may pre-order. I try not to buy books often anymore. Edited to add - I forgot I preordered The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb on audible - I couldn‘t wait though I‘m close to the top of the hold list. 🤦🏼‍♀️😃
