This was cute! Sage‘s former friend returns to town & starts working at her family‘s apothecary, while her frenemy is on shift there‘s a break in & potions are stolen- including a misbrewed potion that has causes injury to another classmate. A quick read. The mystery was fun to try to untangle, low tension, the world is fun & I was quite entertained.

Old Time Religion | E.H. Lupton

Following “Dionysus in Wisconsin,“ Ulysses & Sam are disturbed to learn Sam might not have been the only victim of his grandfather's magical schemes, when Ulysses' ex Livia turns up in peril.

I love this relationship and the author's voice--imagine a cozier, Midwest K.J Charles--so this has to be a pick, but oh was I irritated! Ulysses is so willfully oblivious to what's right under his nose. And the ending is... insufficient. But I'll read on!

I liked the concept of this small town full of magical creatures, where a witch conjures the spirit of her ex-girlfriend and needs to move on romantically in order for the ghost to move on. The love interest is new in town and adapts to the knowledge of the paranormal rather quickly. My main issue was that the characterization of the two women was too similar. Even switching POVs it was hard to remember whose head you were in

PuddleJumper That's so difficult when it's dual pov 1d
Kenyazero This just landed on my Libby shelf! Hopefully I'll be able to follow along even though the characters are very similar 😆 13h

I really enjoyed this paranormal mystery. It was spookier than I expected but I liked the magical aspects. The relationship between Whyborne and Griffin was well developed and I look forward to continuing the series.

Les Normaux: A Graphic Novel | Janine Janssen, S Al Sabado

A super cute, colorful, dynamic graphic novel! Sébastien just moved to magical Paris to pursue his magical training. He meets the vampire Elia, an overworked model, and after a charged first interaction they hit it off as friends. Séb is demisexual & hilariously oblivious to all flirting attempts. They both are anxious beans who worry about whether the other actually wants to be friends. It's super relatable. I loved all the side characters too

I do not like zombies but I‘m glad I picked up this book. It‘s got other supernatural creatures besides zombies. There are vampires, witches, trolls, etc. It was really good on audio. The narrator was so good with voices!

I nominated this book for #CampLitsy25 but I‘m actually really glad it wasn‘t picked and I got to read it in Fall.

It starts with a woman faking her death to escape her abusive husband and then goes full throttle into serial killers, feminism, the supernatural, and family ties. I don‘t want to give too much away but I just loved it.

This book, based on the Essex Witch Trials of the 1640s, was truly spellbinding.(Forgive the pun; it‘s the most appropriate word I could think of.) I highly recommend listening on audio. I found the narrator‘s voice to be quietly mesmerizing, and was perfectly suited to this story. Although the story is sad, it conveys a real sense of what it was like to live in England during the witch craze of the Cromwellian era. Petrifying.

I hated this book and would like to formally apologize for picking it as a team read. Plot: a group of jealous witches get together to punish a gross man that for some reason they have all been fawning over 🤦🏼‍♀️

RamsFan1963 I remember watching the movie thinking, why are these three gorgeous women interested in this toad of a man?? Even if he is Jack Nicholson 🤮 3d
