Fifth recipe for #MtCookbook was not baked goods! This was overly oily so I‘m keeping the recipe but dropping the oil drastically next time. Oh, and I couldn‘t be bothered to seek out broccolini but using broccoli was totally fine.

Tamra Yum! I wish we had broccolini here. 2mo
janeycanuck @Tamra broccoli works! And is cheaper🤪 2mo
mabell Looks yummy! How was the teriyaki? 2mo
janeycanuck @mabell It was good but the recipe had too much oil and it separated out. I‘d cut the oil drastically next time. 2mo

I look forward to trying Barefoot Contessa‘s Hot Spiced Apple Cider recipe this month. Definitely adding the optional bourbon!

See comments for link to recipe (from tagged cookbook).

Thanks Ina Garten!

Bookworm54 It looks great! ☺️ 2y
tpixie @Bookworm54 thanks! I wish I had made it yesterday so it could set a little longer. Hopefully it turns out good!! It‘s Barefoot Contessa though so that‘s pretty trustworthy! The recipe also calls for kale but I know the people that we are eating with would not want that! (edited) 2y
Bookworm54 Sounds like a delicious addition if you enjoy kale though! Have fun at the party 😋 2y

tpixie @peaknit yes!! Yummy! 2y
rockpools Lovely! I‘ve heard nothing but positive about her cookbooks/recipes - maybe I should look them out. 2y
tpixie @rockpools there were my mom‘s & are my sister‘s favorite go- to cookbooks , so I like cooking from them as a family tradition. If you like it, you should try her Perfect roasted chicken & oh my! Her French Onion Dip 2y
tpixie @rockpools ** the onions need to cool** I love with Fritos. My sister uses the leftovers on sandwiches 🥪. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/pan-fried-onion-dip-recipe-194069... 2y
rockpools @tpixie That sounds so good! I always have more onions that I know what to do with. 2y

Ina‘s microwave hollandaise recipe was easy and delicious! I love lots of lemon in my hollandaise and Ina adds a LOT (maybe too much?); I just added a little less the 2nd time I made it. But HOLLANDAISE in the MICROWAVE!!!!!

charl08 That sounds like a recipe I want to try. 3y

Despite what my husband might tell you, I do not have a cookbook problem 😋

What's your go to book for #scrumptious recipes?

#InspiredNewYear @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Prairiegirl_reading The barefoot contessa has never failed me. I also LOVE Jacques Pepin. My favourite baking cookbook is called Flapper Pie and a Blue Prairie Sky, so many classic recipes that my grandmothers used to bake. It made me tear up a bit. 3y

Amandajoy That doesn‘t look like a problem. 3y
TheKidUpstairs @Prairiegirl_reading i love classic cookbooks. I've got a couple that were my grandmother's, and one where my stepmom wrote all her recipes. They are such treasures. 3y
TheKidUpstairs @Amandajoy i agree! And really, while he might make fun of me, he also bought me two of these for Christmas. 3y
