"Mma Ramotswe, owner of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency ( as featured in a two-page article in the Botswana Daily News, under the headline "A Lady Who Definitely Knows How to Find Things Out", had strong views on the things that she owned."

Happy Black Cat Day to everyone with house panthers!

Another installment of mystery and community with Mma Romatswe and friends. I love the way Mma Potikwane gently manipulates her in this one, in the sweetest and most well intended way.

I‘m growing to love this series: gentle, seemingly soft-touch stories with gentle humour, but covering some tough subjects at the same time.

As one of the official languages of Botswana is English, I‘m claiming this for #English_Speaking #FictionalTraveler @julieclair

Also part of a series for #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Another excellent book. This one focused on themes of family. How lucky is Mma Ramotswe, to be married to a man as good-hearted as Mr. J. L. B. Matekoni? I love those two.
For anyone curious to try Mma Ramotswe‘s red bush tea, I Googled it and came up with rooibos tea, which I found at my supermarket. I like it. My box is by Twinings. ⬇️

azulaco I‘m amused that Mma Ramotswe is horrified by the idea of drinking iced tea, rather than hot tea. I grew up in Texas, where only weirdos drank hot tea. Hot coffee with breakfast, and iced tea with lunch and dinner, that‘s just what grownups drank. I‘ve expanded my appreciation for hot tea since then 😉 4mo
Ruthiella I immediately thought of Mma Ramotswe when I saw the picture! 🫖 ☕️☺️ 4mo

It‘s a stressful week with the kids starting school and everyone adjusting to a new, earlier schedule, so I‘m comfort reading. The No. 1 Ladies‘ Detective Agency series is very calming. I‘m up to book 7.

Ruthiella Love this series. It really is comforting. 4mo

I read the first in this series years ago, and though I enjoyed it, for some reason I never got around to continuing the series. I stumbled across this second in the series when looking for a book for the #SomeplaceHot #FictionalTraveler prompt, and I‘m glad I did. This is delightful, gentle storytelling.

A generous donor to the orphan farm is putting unacceptable conditions on his donations. Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi investigate his reasons. One of the Speedy Motors apprentices is arrested for handling stolen goods. And the ladies get the chance to meet a very famous person.

I did worry just how disappointed Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi were going to be by their special guest.
