While I've collected most of my books due to loving history and information, I must admit, there's several I've gotten due to nostalgia.

Yuki_Onna It's so cute! 1mo
lil1inblue What a lovely idea! 😍 1mo
CatLass007 I don‘t knit but I have friends who read and knit with whom I will share the link. 1mo

Kitta Oh yay! That‘s great I‘ll save it to my ravelry. 1mo
Kitta Is the magic loop method hard? I usually use dpns but I don‘t have the right size right now. 1mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta I cannot used DPNs. I am not coordinated enough. I used to do magic loop but I tended to get laddering. I found a great alternative. I use FlexiFlips. They are the best of both. I use them for all small circumference knitting. https://youtu.be/IgzMgqT-2Qs 1mo
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon oooh I‘ll check those out! 1mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta they are not cheap but I love them. I‘ve also used HiyaHiya Flyers. The metal ones are SHARP, if you like sharper tips. If you get them let me know if you like them. They were a game changer for me. 1mo
CatLass007 A friend of mine uses circular needles for everything. No DPNs, no regular knitting needles, whatever those are called. Just the circular ones. Which I have a hard time remembering not to say the round ones. 2w
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon I wonder if they come in bamboo too or would that be too flexible a material? I prefer bamboo needles generally and a blunter tip lol. My old dpns are wood but I stepped on two and broke them! 🤦🏻‍♀️ 2w
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon I just checked and addi makes bamboo ones! Edit: So does Hiyahiya! (edited) 2w
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta oh yes. I have both. Addi will be a bit blunter. It seems Hiya Hiya likes really sharp tips. I hope you like them.🤞 2w
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon the only sharp tips I have are my Chiaogoos and they‘re metal, which I found I didn‘t like. So slippery for what I was doing. So maybe I‘ll like sharp tips if they‘re bamboo? I‘m not sure. I‘ll probably try the addi ones first. 2w

I also updated my world map for the end of the year. These are all the countries I‘ve visited through books in 2024. I‘m trying to get better at geography - hopefully I‘ve colored all the correct places! 😅

So I‘ve been keeping a log of what I have read since 1986. Just dates, titles , authors. No reviews , just noting rereads. What a long strange trip it‘s been.

tpixie That‘s awesome 🤩 3mo
dabbe 🤩🤩🤩 3mo
AmyG I have a list since 5/10/74. Isn‘t it wild when you go back to read it….see what you were reading back in the day? 3mo

Suet624 I was just updating my latest journal. Nothing glamorous but packed full of quotes since at least 2002. I moved so much before that time that I think I‘ve lost my earliest ones from the 70s. It‘s a treasure to have them. 3mo
AnnCrystal That's awesome, just began mine in 2023. 📚📔💝. 3mo
Hooked_on_books Mine goes back to the 80s as well, but I don‘t know the date, as I initially didn‘t track that. For years I had a 3 ring binder and loose leaf, as I tracked by author‘s last name and that way I could add pages wherever needed. I would take it with me to the used bookstore to make sure I didn‘t buy any I‘d already read. 😉 3mo
sisilia Wow this is wonderful 😍 3mo
Leftcoastzen @Suet624 I wish I had earlier ones , I used to think I would always remember! ha ha ha! 3mo
Leftcoastzen @AmyG wow ! I had better taste back then I think. I shunned popular stuff . 3mo
Leftcoastzen @Hooked_on_books good old system. I‘m keeping it up despite computerized ways to keep track. 3mo
AmyG Ha! I have better taste now. I read alot of garbage. 🤣 3mo

Quote from a one-nan show called "Bibliomania" by Roger Rosenblatt. The quote was in a coffee table book on libraries.

In the spirit of Kramer's "coffee table book about coffee tables," here's a "library book about libraries."

5 stars!! This is my second time reading this…..books are kinda dated but it so accurately describes the slow descent into collecting that can happen. If you like books about books - you‘ll like this. Reminds me of 84,Charring Cross Road.

MaGoose I loved both the tagged book and 84 Charring Cross Road, too. 🤎 10mo

A mini #bookhaul from the remainders/discount bookstore. I was super excited to find these as 3 out of 4 were on my wishlist for years.

Clockwise from top L:
1) Stream System - Collected Short Fiction of Gerald Murnane
2) Territory of Light - Yuko Tsushima (I think the cover is pretty but it doesn't show up well in the pic)
3) Looking for Mr Goodbar - Judith Rossner
4) The Fortnight in September - R.C. Sherriff

Tamra The Sherriff is 💙💙 12mo
batsy @Tamra Was so thrilled to find it having seen lots of Litsy love for it 😊 12mo
Ruthiella I loved A Fortnight in September-such a gentle story. I read Mr Goodbar in the last century. Good but disturbing, as I remember. 12mo

batsy @Ruthiella I've heard that about Mr Goodbar! Apparently it was also made into a movie with Diane Keaton. 12mo
LeahBergen I think you‘ll love A Fortnight. And I read Mr Goodbar back in the last century, too, @Ruthiella 😆 12mo
marleed I loved A Fortnight. In case you aren‘t aware of its origins, I think it enhances the reading experience to know when and how the book was written. 12mo
batsy @LeahBergen Fortnight seems to be quite universally loved 🙂 12mo
batsy @marleed Don't know too much about it, but thanks for the tip. Will look it up before I start reading! 12mo
Cathythoughts Nice haul. I‘m going to look up Territory of Light. ♥️ 12mo
batsy @Cathythoughts Thanks 😘 I've heard lots of good things about Territory, so I'm hoping it is 🤞🏾 12mo
