Fred Gets Dressed | Peter Brown

5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 This book is so going to show up on banned lists, and while that sucks, this book is so good. Fred like to run around the house naked. Until he wanders into mom and dads closet. Fred tries on Dad‘s clothes, but they don‘t fit. Then they try on mom‘s clothes. This do fit, and then Fred wanders to the make and jewelry. About the time Fred is making a mess, the parents walk in and join the fun.

LibrarianRyan This book was so awesome. it‘s about play. That anyone can play as anything. Could this be deeper meaning maybe, maybe not. The story keeps things simple so that all kids can see themselves, whether cis gender, trans, or non-binary. 3y
AkashaVampie All I could think of when I saw this pic is "It's naked time!!" It's a skit that Dana Carvey used to do about his kids. 3y

Author: David Soman and Jacky Davis
Genre: Realistic Fiction
“No need to fear! The Bug Squad is here!” Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy is a realistic fiction (RF)about a little girl's adventure at the playground. When she and her friend can't agree on what to play she suggest he joins her and plays Ladybug girl. Together they show off their power on the playground and save a helpless pup from an evil derange squirrel. This book would be fantastic

LauraLeighn for Partner Reading (PR) weather that means each student takes turns reading each page or if they assign parts and read for their character. I think ESOL strategy 10. Teach think, pair, and share strategies in cooperative groups would go great with the PR. It would be great to encourage the students to be thinking critically as they read, let them bounce ideas off each other. This ESOL strategy plays well with UDL 9.3 (Develop self-assessment and 4y
LauraLeighn reflection) since you can encourage any student to think pair share as well as reflect on what they are reading. TeacherVision has some great lesson resources for this book as well, with fun activity pages, and reading assessments. https://www.teachervision.com/childrens-book/ladybug-girl-bumblebee-boy-activity... #ucflae3414SU20 4y
Emmaturtle3 Hi! I‘ve never head Id this book before, but I now want to read it!! The title remind me of shark boy and lava girl haha also, that is such an awesome resource. It provided so many worksheets, lessons and assessments for this book and I know many other as well! Great post :) 4y
DrSpalding What a helpful resource. This is a series! Ladybug girl is the main character of several books. Minor errors… Weather should be whether. 🙂 4y

#UCFLAE3414SU19 This New York Times Bestseller is a RF book that follows Wilfred through his “ownership” of Marcel the moose. The young boy goes over his rules, and in the end finds out that sometimes the nature of nature can‘t be influenced or owned. It‘s a truly hilarious children‘s picture book and would make for a great RA for all students engagement. Also, the art within is amazing! But I love most of Jeffers artistic stylings.

DawnS Students that may be at different ability levels within your class can track the story with a story map: https://www.teachingbooks.net/clp.cgi?master_id=37736&lf_id=9 This book and resource will help meet UDL 5.3 with graduated levels of support to build fluency and EL strategy 9 of note taking strategies. 5y
DrSpalding You should add the link to your beautiful piktochart as a resource. Using graphic organizers like a story maps is a best practice strategy. 5y

Oliver Jeffers creates another amazing RF book about a boy and his moose! A little boy stumbles upon a moose and makes him his pet. There‘s only two problems, 1, the moose doesn‘t listen to his rules and 2, the moose belongs to someone else! This book is great for RT using a moose props for each student. You can have each student make their own with this link! Just add a popsicle stick to it and they‘ll all be saying, “This moose belongs to me!”

Kcompton2912 http://www.oliverjeffersworld.com/downloads/_OJ-Colour-3.pdf The UDL principle 4.1, vary the methods for response and navigation, and the EL strategy 18, use commands and directions that involve overt student actions as in Total Physical Response (TPR), can be met with this book in RT! #UCFLAE3414SU19 5y
DrSpalding Fabulous resource for a relatively new children‘s author/illustrator! 5y

Greenwillow books, 1997
This book teaches kids about friendship and cooperating with each other during play. That's really all there is to it. It's a good book to read if you want to teach your kids about working together and cooperation.

I picked this up last night, and we are enjoying our little staycation at the beach this weekend. This book is adorable and a funny and somewhat accurate picture of marriage. Jace approves! 👍🏻
