⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “All this happened, more or less.“ My #favoritefirstline. I'm recycling an old photo, but like the book, and the opening line, it too is a favorite! I decided to #reread this after Tom Roston's recent “The Writer's Crusade“ - a thoughtful deep dive into Vonnegut's most famous work. I think I've read Slaughterhouse-Five more than any other book. It will ALWAYS hold up. I'm so grateful his Dresden story finally came to fruition.

Cinfhen It‘s a fabulous photo 😍😍😍I‘m almost inspired to try this book again xx 3y
CallMeIshmael I recently reread it also as I talked a friend who had never read Vonnegut to give it a try and it‘s amazing how good this book is 3y
britt_brooke @CallMeIshmael And it somehow gets better with every reread, I swear. So good. 💚 3y

It might just be because I'm currently reading it, but this might be my #favoritefirstline, tied with The Gunslinger. #stephenking17

#StephenKing17 #day15 #favoritefirstline This is the first line of Riding the Bullet in Spanish the English version is:

"I‘ve never told anyone this story, and never thought
I would—not because I was afraid of being disbe-lieved, exactly, but because I was ashamed . . . and
because it was mine"

I really like it because i have feel that way about certain experience that are just so weird or personal that you can just share it

I'd say my #favoritefirstline from a Stephen King book is a toss-up between It and The Gunslinger (cliched answer, but true!). I think this line digs its sharp claws right into you and makes you desperate to know more. It evokes dread and curiosity. What terror? What about a newspaper boat? Why 28 years? In one line you realize the 1,200 pages ahead will likely tell one hell of a horrific story. #stephenking17 #day15

Josie Great post!!! Are you a writer? You should be 😘 8y
tlarocca Steven King, responsible for a whole generation of kids terrified of rain gutters amd shower drains. 8y
