Hedwig and the Angry Inch | Stephen Trask, John Cameron Mitchell
post image

Wicked is in theaters this weekend: a book that became a Broadway show that is now a movie. Are you excited?!
For #tuesdaytunes today, I'm sharing my favorite stage show adapted into a movie. Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a rock musical about an East German singer who tells the story of her betrayal by a collaborator who used their work to gain fame for himself. Created by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask.

willaful I love Hedwig! Was lucky enough to John Cameron Mitchell in 2020 (right before lockdown.) 2d
TieDyeDude @willaful I saw Mitchell in 2015 after he injured his knee (which he brilliantly worked into the story as getting Nancy-Kerrigan-ed by a Gnosis fan). I got to see Neil Patrick Harris in preview, as well! 2d
InkedBookworm13 I love Hedwig. ❤️ It is stuck a good movie, I've never seen the show though. It's on my to do list. 22h

This was an amazing read. It brought up some really important issues. I enjoyed reading it so much. It definitely had a lot of heart in it. I would strongly recommend reading this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was too slow for me. The writing style was very detached, making it difficult to connect to the characters.

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

I guess I just don‘t like popular movies. The 23 that I watched on this list mostly Superhero, Disney or Marvel, I saw against my will. 😆 The price of being a mother of teenagers during those years.

Favorites are the Harry Potter movies, the Hobbit and I liked the new Top Gun.

dabbe I couldn't believe all of the franchise movies and sequels in this group! And, you still kicked my sorry 🫏! Thanks for playing and sharing! 🤩🤩🤩 5mo

People in Trouble | Sarah Schulman

Pickpick

A powerhouse of a novel depicting the AIDS crisis veridical to history, Schulman's work remains deeply poignant some thirty years after its original publication. Reminiscent of RENT, set on the sprawling, gentrified streets of NYC, the three central characters, caught in the midst of a love triangle, are three-dimensional and contradictory, entwined in the throes of sexuality, sensuality, grief, and a movement that alters them permanently.
