I was watching the Spanish princess, and there are many similarities but a little different, I‘m not a big fan of this queen like I was Elizabeth, who is long gone by now!

I am enjoying this series of books and usually get anywhere from 3-5 books (at least) when I go to the bookstore, but the other day when I went someone bought all of Philippa Gregory‘s books!! They didn‘t have a single one!! But not to worry, I found everything I was looking for on eBay!! I think I bought 5-6 books!!

Butterfinger I enjoy reading her books on royalty. She has a series that I despise because of incest. It was as bad as Flowers in the Attic series. 2w
Lauraandherbooks @Butterfinger what series is that? 2w
Butterfinger @Lauraandherbooks Wiseacre Trilogy - I loved Gregory so I thought it was a fluke, maybe she was on drugs or something. I was trying to rationalize. So I read the second and it was worse. I'm sure there are some who can stomach it, but it wasn't for me. Just a fair warning. 2w
Lauraandherbooks @Butterfinger thank you for letting me know!! I have one of those books and was planning on getting the others to eventually start reading; but if it‘s like that I‘m not interested 😖 definitely not something I want to read 2w

Finish my book for chapter one of the #wintermagicalreadathon Tuesday. My prompt was to read a book on my existing TBR that was 500+ pages.

I really enjoyed this one. Philippa Gregory is one of my favorites and an auto buy author for me highly recommend you pick this one or another of her books up.

Terrible photo...but I am enjoying this book by Jean Plaidy. Katharine had a spectacular, but also very sad, life. I started collecting Plaidy books about 10 years ago after reading her Norman trilogy. Finally decided I need to actually read them all and free up shelf space! Started with the Tudor Saga. Jean Plaidy was a pen name of author Eleanor Hibbert (who also wrote as Philippa Carr, Victoria Holt and several other pseudonyms).

Scochrane26 I used to read some Victoria holt when I was a teen but didn‘t know it was a pen name. 4w
Sace The Ferdinand and Isabella trilogy is also very good. I think I've tagged the first book. 4w

This was my first foray into "Royal" historical fiction.
I'm a massive historical fiction fan, but have never read any books about court life.
I really enjoyed getting to know the Tudor family members and some history about the royal English family.

Lauraandherbooks Have you read the other books in the series? 2w
Yoricke_SouthAfrica @Lauraandherbooks I have 😊. I read the two books on the Boleyn family. Absolutely loved it! 1w

It‘s the winter cozy reading night in a few hours and I‘d like to make a good dent in this book. I‘ve got about 250 to pages left so I won‘t be finishing it but some noticeable progress would be nice.

Starting a whole new type of book (and series). *Royalty* and the history surrounding them. Quite excited to get into these books 🤩🤩

ljuliel I‘ve not read any of these but I think there are a lot to choose from. I hope you enjoy them. 👑 1mo
Scochrane26 I read a lot of these a few years ago. Some I liked better than others. Got bored with the most recent ones. I really liked this one. They can be confusing because it seems everyone has the same name. 1mo
Yoricke_SouthAfrica @ljuliel You are so right. Took me ages to figure out 'where to start". Still not sure I'm right ? 1mo

Yoricke_SouthAfrica @Scochrane26 I'm only a few pages in, and I'm already finding that. Must be "the times" ?. 1mo
marleed @Yoricke_SouthAfrica @ljuliel @Scochrane26 Haha. That reminds me of the Colleen McCullough book about The Fall of Rome. I read it years ago but still come across this map of names I had to write down. So many names ending in ius- Marius, Cassius, Thesius... 1mo
Yoricke_SouthAfrica @marleed That is so true. Only in this one, the names don't only sound the same, they are actually the same. Older Queen Margaret, young princess Margaret, Lady Margaret... the struggle is real. 🤔😂 1mo
