I loved this book and wish I hadn't let this sit on my bookshelf for so long!

Miranda inherits a Bookshop from her estranged uncle, that includes clues she has to decipher, just like when she was a little kid. I had to suspend disbelief a little, as it seems he left a lot up to chance. But the whimsical nature of it lightened the heartbreak of the story.

And I loved all of the references to Shakespeare and the classics!

Texreader How lovely! It‘s on my tbr list 1w
Librariana That sounds absolutely lovely! ☺️ I could've sworn I owned a copy of it, but maybe I imagined it?? ? Either way, glad you read it and enjoyed it and that it is "off the shelf"! 1w

Something Wilder | Christina Lauren

Mehso-so

It took a few chapters for me to get into this story, but once I did I liked it for the most part. I thought there were a few flaws in the storyline, but it was a fun story of Lily, Nicole, Leo, Walt, Bradley, and Terry on a treasure hunt for the stolen money of Butch Cassidy.

TheAromaofBooks This one just wasn't what I was expecting. I felt like nothing I read prepared me for an actual murder, so it made some of the fun campier vibes feel out of place to me. 2w

The Good Part | Sophie Cousens

Pickpick

What would happen if you skipped from your 20s to your 40s, from all of the hard work starting out at your job to being successful at your career, from dating to find the right person to being married to a wonderful husband with 2 great kids? That's exactly what happened to Lucy after she made a wish on an arcade game, a wish that she could just get to the good part of her life already.

Rachel and Drew are dealing with the care of their aging mom who has Alzheimers and often doesn't recognize them. On one of Rachel's visits, her mom tells her about a book she wants her to find. The sisters find the book hidden in their mom's sewing room, a book about a woman named Tomoe Gozen who was a samurai warrior in Japan in the 1100s. They wonder what it has to do with their mom, and why she wanted to make sure they had it.

Just Haven't Met You Yet | Sophie Cousens

Pickpick

Laura is a lifestyle reporter who focuses her work on love stories and how people met. She travels to the island of Jersey to visit all of the locations featured in her parents' love story. However, shortly after arriving she realizes she got the wrong suitcase at the airport... but hopes it might lead her to her soulmate, because this suitcase is full of the things she loves, including To Kill a Mockingbird and Phil Collins music. ⬇️

CoffeeNBooks She catches a cab, driven by grumpy Ted, but when she explains to him what happened, he definitely doesn't believe this is going to be an epic meet-cute.

This is the second Sophie Cousens book I read, and I really like her books!

This one is a low pick for me. I liked the characters put the plot was just so off the rails I couldn't get totally invested in the story. I've said this numerous times, I prefer characters and plots are at least plausible, if not, then the writing must be of such quality as to make up for the short comings. 3ish Stars
I doubt I will read the other books in the series. #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #REad2025 @DieAReader #LitsyLoveReads

Another fun fluff read. I liked the characters and the touch of humor in a few scenes that made the book so much fun. I also liked the bit of drama and thought it worked well in this one. I ploughed through this book quickly and will definitely read the next book in this series. 4 ⭐

Pucking Wild is the second book in the Jacksonville Rays series about a team of NHL hockey players. Enjoyed this and devoured it in two days despite a 603 page count. The author does an awesome job with character development and I love her descriptive prose. My only complaint is that the characters are not even remotely like real life. Just my person preference that a prefer characters that are more believable. It is just a minor thing and I...

I really like Lauren Graham, so this was a wonderful audiobook. She talks about life, family, friendships, love, her acting career, the show Parenthood, and of course Gilmore Girls. I'm looking forward to listening to more of her books!

The Lost House: A Novel | Melissa Larsen

Pickpick

The Lost House moved at a slow pace in the beginning, but finished like a blizzard. A broken girl goes to meet a Podcaster in Iceland to reopen her grandmother's murder. Everyone in town thinks her grandfather did it, including her own father. On the 40th anniversary, another young woman disappears. A novel on grief, trust issues, and family bonds. 4 stars.
