So this completes week 1. I'm so behind. Other than work and the grocery, I'm mostly staying in. However my work is a landmark so I'm going with it. And if course one should have a selfie with a fox when wearing a fox mask. 🦊

Lcsmcat @Graciouswarriorprincess It is, and a little scary. My Council went back to in-person meetings in June. We “encourage” masks, but half the council and the Mayor don‘t wear them. Last week we had a public hearing and way too many people showed up, I had to swear 30 of them in. While most were masked, I still felt very uncomfortable with the crowd. It was a 4 1/2 hour meeting and while I marked the seats to try to keep social distancing 👇🏻 4y

Lcsmcat people removed the tape and sat next to each other, and we were all breathing the same air. 4y

Graciouswarriorprincess @Lcsmcat Oh my, that is scary! The Oracle Morrisville office has been chosen as the pilot office for reopening for the US. I am not happy about it! My team will take turns being there since Durham is still closed. Being immune compromised, living with John who is 71 and my son having Crohn‘s Disease, I am so afraid! My manager thinks that this is just not that bad either so he doesn‘t help my anxiety level. Please stay safe!! Hugs! (edited) 4y

Graciouswarriorprincess @Lcsmcat We have been here in Durham since March. Wake county isn‘t going to enforce mask wearing. I am sheltering at home until the office opens. Stay safe too! 4y

Jeg Just read your exchange and it does sound scary. We have relatives just over the border from you in Sth Carolina. They have been back at work for a while. Bosses don‘t think it‘s that bad! Here in Western Australia we have no community transmission and though borders will stay closed we are getting back to normal without the scary feelings. 4y

alisiakae @Lcsmcat I hope so too. Where numbers currently stand, I don't see school going back in August. And I really NEED my kid to go back to school. Hubby is a surgeon, and we have one hospital in Charlotte that has had to stop all non-emergency cases again, due to overcapacity. I think we're at 97%z bed capacity right now in Mecklenburg County. Things arent good, and I hope enough people adhere to the 3 W's to make a difference. 4y

Lcsmcat @4thhouseontheleft That is scary. I hope your husband stays safe. We‘re not that close to capacity in Wake, but we have an over abundance of hospitals between Rex, UNC, and Duke. 4y

Lcsmcat @Graciouswarriorprincess @4thhouseontheleft I‘m pondering how to respond to Alamance, Sampson, and Beaufort county sheriff‘s saying they won‘t enforce. Given what I see here, some letters to County Commissioners and Chambers of Commerce might be needed. 4y

I really don‘t understand how they can not enforce this as it protects lives. @4thhouseontheleft @Lcsmcat I just got a call from my doctor‘s office for my online appointment to get my medication for my Hashimoto‘s Disease. They are cutting down their hours in July to five hours a day. The nurse said they are doing this because of the current rise. Just stay safe!! Thank goodness for books and bookish friends!! Hugs! 4y

Today‘s #summerfun is in Downtown Durham. I work in downtown so I visit the parks over lunchtime. My favorite park is Downtown Park which has “Major”, the Bronze bull plus a sculpture garden. Then a quick trip half a mile away is the “Annie Savoy” house from Bull Durham. #safeselfie #parkselfie #downtownDurham

Here is my #summerfun #safeselfie - I was at a local landmark - a nature preserve! My first time there.

This is ALSO my review for #readinwater bingo spot - I read this in my bathtub! I love The Bachelor, but this book disappointed. It was very issue based and not very romancey, the guys were unappealing (red flags). It felt more plus-sized torture porn than anything else. It felt like the MC settled for less than her worth. 2 stars. #botm

Summer Fun | Dianne Branch

I finally went to the bookstore today! Went to get 2 books by African-American authors but ended up with 2 different ones. Took a pic of one of the horses in our bookstore—they were done by local artists & put on display around the city several yrs ago, then businesses bought them. Fun Fact: Does anyone remember an old TV show in the early 90s called Tour of Duty? Kyle Chandler played a blind soldier who came home from Vietnam on the season finale. When he got off the bus in Old Fort, the viewers saw the same monument.
