Grilled cheese and Twitter wars, viral memes, and some really crappy adults aren‘t usually my cup of tea. But the two teen main characters are what made this book for me.

I took a detour from the audiobook to watch Ugly Delicious ( season2) and a few episodes of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Good decision😉Through the Netflix series I was able to get a fuller picture of David Chang. David is definitely a larger than life presence. He‘s gregarious, quick witted, amiable but also manic and short tempered. And in raw honesty, David shares his dark side alongside his openness and eagerness to please and create. 👇🏼

Cinfhen I loved this audiobook read by David. He details his successes and failures, taking responsibility for all that has evolved over his first days of opening Momofuku, Noodle Bar. Megabooks I definitely felt he “went there” in terms of this being a really introspective memoir. I liked that a lot. Plus reading @nelehelen ‘s in-depth own voices Korean-American review over on Instagram really gave me more insight into how his upbringing and relationship with his family affected his adulthood. She explained more about Korean families‘ feelings on mental health as well. David is a really complex, interesting guy. 4y

I‘m not really familiar with David Chang , aside from remembering the buzz around Momofuku, but it seems EVERYONE else is a fan

Megabooks I wasn‘t familiar with David either when I read it, but I ended up enjoying it - especially the second half when he gets really introspective 4y

Cinfhen Are u familiar with this chef @Kalalalatja ?? I wasn‘t really, but I‘ve now watched one season of Ugly Delicious his Netflix series so now the memoir is SO MUCH more compelling. I‘ve read/listened to a few other chef/ foodie memoirs and this one is pretty good. The other one that I REALLY LOVED was this audio 👉It was AMAZING
