BluebirdA nice break from the prior barrage of ‘what will happen next to poor Tess‘. Loved the writing, but must admit I got a bit bored…. However that doesn‘t mean I‘m looking forward to the next tragedy that will befall Tess. 🥺1y
dabbeI much admire Tess's resolve to move on and find her life. Her parents are completely worthless, and she's been through so much already, but to her, I think she was thinking that anything had to be better than where she was. However, this is Hardy (who writes a lot like Edith Wharton--beautifully!), and things can't end well for Tess--at least now now. I'm still rooting for her, though. Love her as a character. 🧡💜💛1y
Cuilin@dabbe Agree, her parents are the worst. Tess is quite resilient.1y
