Pickpick

Ok, I get why this book is a high school staple. So much to ponder & debate and the ideas of technology, science, nature, humanity and accountability is still just as relevant today. I switched from audio to print for the last few chapters and I think that helped to move the story along. At times this novel felt weighted & heavy. Slow start, some bumps along the way but ultimately happy to have read this classic. Covers lots of challenge prompts!

Cinfhen It‘s not making any of my best lists @Reviewsbylola but it does satisfy my #ClassicsChallenge2020 4y

Cinfhen One book Six challenges 🙌🏻💕 4y
jenniferw88 Ha - was waiting to see which of the prompts you were going to use it for! Here's a list of short books you could use for "Classic": https://bookriot.com/2020/01/02/best-short-classic-books 4y
TrishB Well done on all those challenge prompts!! (edited) 4y
Hooked_on_books Can you believe she wrote this when she was 18-19 years old? Extraordinary. 4y
Suet624 Nicely done on the challenges! 4y
Cinfhen @jenniferw88 thanks for that list!!!! I‘ve been wanting to read this book forever/ 4y
Librarybelle Nicely done! And to think she wrote this over two hundred years ago - I find the whole concept mind boggling. Truly ahead of her time! 4y
Cinfhen Super impressive @Hooked_on_books She was obviously WAY AHEAD of her times 💪🏽💄Thanks @TrishB @Suet624 Feels good to knock off a bunch of prompts on the 3rd day of the new year 😁 4y
Cinfhen Yup @Librarybelle 🙌🏻❣️ 4y

I read this a few years ago and thought it was just okay. It begs the question, “What if everything you own sparks joy?” And the part that suggests I should regularly weed out my books - consider me a hoarder, because I rarely part with a book. Ms. Kondo would not be happy with me. I did pick up a few good tips, though! #CleaninOutMyCloset #aprella

Cinfhen I remember the whole #sparkjoy phenomenon....but for me it‘s called #bookstore 💕💕💕 6y
Librarybelle @Cinfhen ❤️❤️❤️ 6y
DivineDiana I did adopt her folding technique! 6y

Librarybelle @DivineDiana I did too! At least, for awhile...😉 6y
Blaire My pick too!! And @DivineDiana I‘ve also adopted her folding technique. It is much easier to see my shirts. 6y
rustoryhuf I have this book at home, but my books are so cluttered I‘m having problems finding it. 😎 6y
amb The only thing I took from this was the folding technique which ironically allows me to have even more clothes! There are simply necessary items that have no capability of sparking joy like cleaning solutions. But maybe I'm just a hoarder. 6y
Reviewsbylola It helped me clean out my clothes but I never actually read the book. 6y
DivineDiana @Blaire Yes, it is! 😀 6y
emilyhaldi I am staying far away from this book... I‘m sure it would classify me as a hoarder but all of the tchotchkes in my home make me happy ☺️ 6y
Librarybelle @Reviewsbylola I think the best advice I received from the book had to do with clothes. 6y
Librarybelle @emilyhaldi Exactly! That‘s how I felt. 6y
AnneCecilie I haven't read the book, but if we use her techniques for everything else in our life, we get more room for books 😀😍 6y
Librarybelle Haha, @AnneCecilie , good point! 6y
