Just finished Ware‘s The Turn of the Key. Really enjoyed the whole Turn of the Screw vibes, tho the ending seemed a little abrupt after all of that juicy, suspenseful buildup. Still, I def recommend this to fans of gothic house horror and distressed Nannies just trying to survive bad-vibe children. It‘s also a fairly short read. I was able to finish it in two days. #TheTurnoftheKey #RuthWare

What. The. Heck.

This book turned out to be A LOT better than I expected! What a story.. I would‘ve never guessed the ending. It has left me wanting more but not in a bad way.

I absolutely recommend it.

The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware. I have heard wonderful things about this book. Have you read it? What did you think?

BooksCoffeeNurse @Neverending_booklist I really enjoyed this Ruth Ware. The Turn of the Key and The Woman in Cabin 10 are my two favorite books by her. I even read her newest book, One by One. But I like this one better. ☺️ 4y

Starting my 5th book of 2020. I‘m about 1/4 of the way into this one, and I‘m already jumpy. This atmospheric thriller is perfectly creepy so far! Have you read this one? What did you think?

2020 books read:

UnabridgedPod I really liked this one! I listened (via Scribd) and though the audio was excellent. 4y
JacqMac It‘s in my library stack. I‘m looking forward to it. 4y
Mccall0113 Meh. Lack luster 4y
MyNamesParadise I listened to the audio and I found it to be really long and drawn out. It wasn‘t suspenseful to me. 4y
Jess7 Update: overall — this book was just ok. It felt pretty drawn out, but that said, I liked the ending. 3 or 3.5 stars. 4y

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just wow! I loved this book so much. The characters were all great. I felt they were easy to connect to and imagine as real.

It honestly read less like fiction and more like I self told true crime. I was kept curious throughout the entire story.

The ending was very sad but unfortunately so inline with human nature!

thanks NetGalley and Gallery/Scott Press.
Rowan Caine applies for a live-in nanny post at Heatherbrae House in the Scottish Highlands. She is now writing to her lawyer in prison as the nanny position turned into a nightmare.
best Ware so far. unputdownable. characters are very believable. plot is ghostly. surprise ending! excellent storyteller and the book was well-written. I look forward to reading her next book. recommend this mystery thriller.
