bailed#hailthebail @dabbe @tpixie this is Christopher Moore‘s first published novel. I really enjoyed his A Dirty Job and its sequel, Secondhand Souls. His writing has improved tremendously since this was published. I really wanted to like this book and I listened to 40% of it. But in the end, I just didn‘t want to waste my time anymore. #betterbooksahead
panIm sorry I just did not like this book. The usual trapped on an island murder story. The only saving grace was it was from one perspective and not 8 other characters although there are a lot of characters to keep up with. For me, the story just dragged, the way the MC figured everything out was just beyond reality, the ending was cheesy, the murder was stupid. I skimmed a lot to be honest. Save yourself and don‘t waste your time.
panSo disappointing. The blurb promised Lord of the flies and cults in this book about a women‘s commune. There‘s sooo much foreboding but it basically goes nowhere and the big reveal at the end is so anticlimactic. It‘s more allotment gone wrong. 🙄
