I sometimes wonder how many fictional characters I have absorbed into my personality...

So the first chapter of this book almost lost me. After the first few paragraphs I really didn‘t think I‘d make it through this book much less the entire series. But here I am halfway into the second book singing it‘s praises! There‘s so many things in this book than makes me scared for our future generations. It poses the question of how far is too far when it comes to beauty. And is ignorance really bliss? #bookspin

TheAromaofBooks Glad you ended up enjoying it! I've been meaning to read this series. 4y

We I can‘t believe I‘m saying this but I finished The Folk of Air series this week! There are some pretty mixed reviews about this series some having to do with more complex literature jargon that I don‘t know much about. But as far as the journey this book takes you on I give it a huge thumbs up! A story about finding love in an essentially loveless world will give anyone hope during this crazy time we live in.

TheAromaofBooks !!!!!! I must read these!!!!! 4y

Was it really just this morning that I started this book? I feel like my emotions been through the ringer. This series is seriously the most frustrating thing I‘ve read here lately. No one ever seems to make the right choices (the choices I want them to make)! Every time I turn around there‘s a new betrayal! I just need one thing to go my way. For now I‘ll sleep until morning and then see where the conclusion takes us.

TheAromaofBooks So impressed that you finished already!! 😂 4y
BeautifullyBookish @TheAromaofBooks I know I feel the same! I read all three books in less than a week... I‘m honestly shocked. I guess I have the quarantine to thank for my enhanced reading speed! 4y

I‘m way late to this party but better late than never right?
I don‘t even know where to begin other than Thank you Holly Black for writing my new obsession.
From intrigue to hatred to utter confusion my feelings never quite landed on solid ground. Even now as I‘m picking up the next book I‘m not entirely sure where my loyalties lie and who to trust. This is my new favorite love to hate series. I absolutely can not get enough!
#bookspin

Melismatic I‘m late too - it‘s been on my TBR forever! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @Melismatic It definitely is one that took a few chapters to get into and understand the world but once you do it sucks you in! 4y
TheAromaofBooks I've been meaning to read these books FOREVER!!!! Definitely needs to happen sooner than later!! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @TheAromaofBooks Well I have put the double spin on hold just so I can finish this series... but seeing as I just finished book two in one day I don‘t think it will be long before I‘m back on track. These books have sucked me in mind body and soul. Lol 4y

All right April #book spin is here! This is #6 from my list

Chrissyreadit That cover! 😍😍😍 4y
TheAromaofBooks I've been meaning to read this series forever!! Love that cover! It always makes me happy when hardcovers are pretty “naked“! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks I know!! I had no idea until I too the dust jacket off and I almost cried a little because it‘s so beautiful! And I had no idea be cause it was given to me in a group of other books from a friend but it‘s SIGNED! So it‘s very special to me now. 4y

So this book gave me mixed feelings. On the whole I think the concept was super imaginative and something I‘ve never really read before. The characters were relatable and some were even morally grey which I loved. But something about it made this book a very long read even though it wasn‘t an extremely long book. Over all I may not reread this but I‘m planning on trying to make it through the next book in the series. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Great review! I don't know why some books feel so long and others don't! Hopefully the next book flows a little better. 4y

Pride and Prejudice | Jane Austen
post image

I finally did it! One of my literary goals has always been to finish the classic books that everyone references. Pride and Prejudice has always been at the top of that list but because of the way it‘s written I have a difficult time staying focused. Thank you so much audible for helping me check of my first classic! I am so in love with this story now and can‘t wait to get on to the next.
What classic do you think I should read next?

Scochrane26 There‘s a lot of classics I don‘t like, but I have enjoyed the audiobooks of Frankenstein & Dracula. The Picture of Dorian Gray is a really good classic. 4y
PickwickPlockPlock If you would like another Austen, then Emma or Persuasion. I love the Sherlock Holmes stories. Cranford by Gaskell is great; I enjoyed The Woman in White, but it's long. A shorter classic, but better enjoyed in December, is Dickens' A christmas carol. If you count 20th century books as classics, then All Quiet on the Western Front (heavy stuff) and To kill a Mockingbird. 4y
BeautifullyBookish @Scochrane26 thanks! Those sound fantastic! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @PickwickPlockPlock thank you so much! I do have quite a few of those on my list but a few I haven‘t come across yet. 4y

I‘ve found my new go to vampire book! The Sookie Stackhouse series starts here and I can‘t wait to read the next book! Sookie keeps you searching for answers till the very end. Every time I thought I figured it out something would be thrown in to sway me. I 100% recommend this book for anyone looking for a mysterious tale with a little human-vampire romance thrown in. @TheAromaofBooks #bookspin

Scochrane26 Beware—a lot of people don‘t like how she ended the series. I personally was ok with it & it made sense. 4y
TheAromaofBooks Great review!! Love the dark cover. 4y
BeautifullyBookish @Scochrane26 I‘ll definitely keep that in mind as I get closer! I am one who tends to dislike any being just because of what it is, An ending. I try not to let that cloud my judgement so hopefully I can get there and feel comfortable with it the way you are! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @TheAromaofBooks thanks! I thought it fit! 4y

All right it‘s that time again @TheAromaofBooks here is my list again. #bookspin

InkedBookworm13 You have some pretty good books picked out. There are a few on my TBR list and I have read 1, 2, 6, 17 & 20. When you get to read those, I hope you love them as much as I did. 🤗 4y

Now that I‘ve made it to the end I can honestly say I don‘t hate this book. It started really slow and took me a while to finish. But I think that‘s because it‘s written for a younger audience. It is a perfect middle grade book. Very babysitters club meets Buffy the vampire slayer. All in all I may not read it again but I‘ll definitely recommend it to a few of my younger followers👍🏻 #bookspin

So I know I‘m supposed to be finishing my #BookSpin for February right now but I got slightly sidetracked about halfway through. As most of you noticed I started the babysitters coven this month. While I do like this book so far I have something else to rave about. I recently discovered Watt pad. I know I‘m late to the party but now that I‘m here I need to tell y‘all about an incredible writer I‘ve discovered! (Finish post on next comment)

BeautifullyBookish Willow Hadley has brought to life an incredible world and family that I want to be apart of more than almost any other fictional series has for me in some time. I love seeing scenes from all different perspectives and getting to know characters inner thoughts and she introduces new characters so well. I just wanted to give a shout out to my favorite unpublished author! And I promise I will finish babysitters coven now! 4y

Okay @TheAromaofBooks I got started with my #bookspin today! I‘ll check in about halfway through to let you know what I‘m thinking!
Also do any of you take your dust jackets off to read? I like a naked book when i am reading. I get too easily distracted by crooked dust jackets.

Melismatic I‘m the same way, esp bc I usually read while commuting on a train to work so less likely to get beat up/torn. 4y
RainyDayReading I usually take the dust jackets off too. Mostly because they annoy me when I‘m trying to read. They‘ll slip up and down along the book as I‘m trying to hold it so it‘s just easier to be without them haha. 4y
Scochrane26 I don‘t like dust jackets & always take them off. I avoid hardcovers if I can. 4y

TheAromaofBooks Totally digging this sassy pink cover. I usually take dust jackets off when I'm reading. I hate to say it, but unless I love the artwork, I actually throw the dust jacket away...….!!!!! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @melisma & @RainyDayReading I‘m glad to know I‘m not alone I use to feel weird about it but now that I‘ve embraced is the naked book is my favorite way to read hardcovers 4y
BeautifullyBookish @Scochrane26 that‘s interesting I personally do like hard covers just because I‘m clumsy and seem to be harder on my paperbacks than I care to admit. But if I was more careful I would probably feel the same! 4y
BeautifullyBookish @TheAromaofBooks my heart! It hurts! Lol if you asked me a few years ago I may have agreed with you but now I have a completely renovated library/office in my home I love my dust jackets. They have kept them safe and clean through the whole moving process and now looks so satisfying on the shelves. Although my friend is the same way with her jackets and always picks on me for being so sentimental about them😂 4y
TheAromaofBooks In fairness, I tend to keep the dust jackets of newer books because the artwork is pretty. I mostly throw away the ones from older books when the cover is rather dreadful. I just bought an old murder mystery from 1973 and the dust cover is a girl with bloody hands against a glass door... um, no thanks, do not need that on my shelf haha 4y
BeautifullyBookish @TheAromaofBooks I can respect that! 4y

2020 is here and so I‘ve started my 20+20=40 challenge. I am hoping to read 40 books by the end of this year! So far I‘m getting along great! I started by revisiting a series that I started way back and just now found my way around to finishing.

BeautifullyBookish @slategreyskies thank you so much! I‘m definitely new not just to Litsy but also to this world of book lovers! Growing up I didn‘t have any who I knew that actually enjoyed reading so I feel like I missed out on so many “younger” books that I‘m trying to go back and read sporadically so I can catchup. I can‘t wait to immerse myself in this community now that I‘ve found it! 4y
