Good. Interesting learning about not just the stars lives but also about the history of Scotland. Informative but fun.

Super fun, humorous jaunt by the two main Outlander actors. Haven‘t seen much of the show yet but did read the first book. The Scottish history is very interesting and not dry; I only wished I could see Men In Kilts! What an adventures two friends took. Great read.

Clanlands is a delightful book. I have both the physical copy for the photos and the audio, for the lovely narration by the authors. Highly recommended even if you're not a particular fan of Outlander.
The second "Sam" in 24 hours just followed me. ?
I don't have a lot of followers on Twitter so I got a little excited to have notifications and a new follower. But then I realized that this is a fake. Sigh.
🎧 This book was thoroughly delightful while imparting a little wisdom. It took me a minute to get into it but they are hilarious & the banter was great! Loved the history and peek behind the scenes of Outlander! Nice voices! I‘ll listen to anything they read. 😍

Here are my March #BookSpin and #BookSpinBingo lists. My BookSpin list is ongoing for the year - I'm just trying to read the official BS number from this list each month as it consists of some longer/denser reads. The Bingo list on the left is comprised of books I'm planning to read in March, most my challenge/buddy read “assignments“. I actually am looking forward to all of these books!!!
Plenty of time to post your list if you're interested in⬇
A few years ago I accidentally met Graham McTavish and figured it would be an appropriate photo to use while I recommended this book by him and Sam Heughan (both of Outlander fame).
I'd highly recommend the audiobook, as it's read by the two actors who are constantly taking the piss out on each other as they travel Scotland and talk about its history and culture. And sample its alcohol. A lot. 😂😅
Scotland planning!

In 3 words: adventurous, conversational, charming. Outlander fans, this one is for you. I have read the first book and watched only the first episode, so I‘m definitely not a super fan. However, I have seen a few episodes of these two in Men in Kilts which I really enjoyed. The book is almost an extension of that show. If you have a thing for Scotland, Highlanders, and accents get this audiobook! Fair warning, a bit repetitive.
This is a hard one to rate. Some parts were annoying, but other bits had me laughing out loud. So I‘ll give it a 👍. Really only recommend for Outlander fans, ans definitely on audio!
It did want to make me go out and buy a tartan! Some of my ancestors hail from Clan Elliot, in the borderlands.
#nonfiction2021 something written in a different country
This 🎧 📖 provides some light entertainment and is beautifully narrated, but I was completely turned off and disappointed by a section in Chapter 10, when MacTavish is basically making light of rape. Not a good look, you lavvy-heided wankstain.
Okay, I couldn‘t resist throwing in Scottish insult. ☺️

This book made me laugh so hard! I can‘t wait to watch the show. I listened to the audio while also reading the book and I highly recommend both. Really, these two could have talked about watching paint dry and I would have enjoyed it. Loved the history of Scotland plus the dynamics of these two #booked2021 #containsphotos #doublespin #july
I highly enjoyed listening to Sam and Graham's adventures in Scotland.

I enjoyed this. I have a dream to one day travel to and explore Scotland. Having Scottish heritage, I‘ve always been interested in learning about the clans and Highlanders. I‘m also an Outlander fan, so I enjoyed some of the behind the scenes info included. The banter between Sam and Graham was fun too. The only thing I probably would‘ve liked more is if there was more info on the clans and less on the actor‘s past careers.
I've never watched Outlander and only read the first book, but love Scotland and the reviews for this looked good. Fun read!!

Long work week so eating my feelings today!
Enjoying tagged book so far as well.
Clanlands audiobook and pompom making in bed on “vacation” at my parents‘ house.
Road Trip! Stars of Outlander- Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) & Graham McTavish (Dougal Mackenzie) - explore Scotland, a land of raw beauty, poetry, feuding, music, history, and warfare.
This is a must read for fans of Outlander. I would recommend the audiobook, read by the authors, which feels as if they are right there telling you Scottish tales, history, and insights into Outlander filming.
I snort-laughed consistently throughout this book. Sam and Graham make a great pairing, with Sam‘s impulsiveness clashing with Graham‘s caution. I also identified strongly with Graham‘s eternal quest for the next snack 😂😂 Thanks @GingerAntics for putting this on my radar and convincing me to read it!
Graham: When I arrive on set, or anywhere such as a hotel, I like to know some simple information... what time breakfast is served...
Sam: And lunch and tea and dinner, all organised whilst you‘re still eating breakfast.
Graham: I just like to know when my next meal is.
#Relatable 🤣
I find this hard to rate. I definitely think you have to listen to it rather than read it, but even then, some of the banter is just not interesting. I did love the history, and I wish there had been more of that and a little less of the antics, but that could just be a matter of my mood this past week. Definitely give it a go if you are an Outlander fan or want a little light history of Scotland. 5 hours down for #20in4
What a delightful diversion! So fun to listen to these two banter and rib each other. Plus Scotland! And history! And kilts! Made me very sad that I can‘t travel and don‘t know when I‘ll be able to. Will definitely be watching the show next.
This audiobook is on sale for $5, and buddy did I scoop it up fast (it came out less than three months ago!). Two Scotsman talking for 11 hours about Scotland? My fave place in the world?? Sign me up!💚🏴💚 #audiobook
This would be really really amazing in audio. I am very much looking forward to seeing the Men in Kilts tv show being filmed in this book. It‘s chock full of Scottish history, which really makes me wonder how there are any Scottish people left. They are a bloody minded murderous lot. Some of the banter between these two men bothered me, a lot of chirping and put downs, constantly. Maybe it will be funnier in the show 🤷🏻♀️
What a delightful listen! Thank you, thank you, @GingerAntics for telling me about this book! What a joy to explore a bit of Scottish history amidst the wonderful senses for humor these two have. I am super excited for the Starz show Men in Kilts now.
I‘m just so bad with audiobooks. This is so good and funny, but I just never seem to know WHEN to listen to it, so it‘s taking f o r e v e r. I can‘t be doing anything else distracting while listening or else I don‘t remember what I‘m listening to. 😂 Going to try little bits of it while I eat breakfast now to finish it.
Saturday morning ( maybe too early for whiskey)
#Outlander fans you must be made aware not only of this book, but the Starz special which will feature these two Bonny “Men In Kilts”!

This was such an awesome start to the year! The book is a written banter-filled conversation between two friends on an adventure in Scotland. It is also full of historical fact and true Scottish history. So funny.
I may have to get Starz just so I can watch this.
First book completed for 2021. I really liked this & can‘t wait to see the show when it airs (Men in Kilts). I‘ve always been interested in Scotland but became more interested after reading Outlander. This is a funny road trip with a lot of joking, background about Graham & Sam‘s childhood & acting life, & Scottish history. If you like Outlander, whisky, or Scotland, this is a book for you. Great armchair travel—I hope to go in person.

I loved this book! It was such a joy to read!
A mixture of memoir, history and the antics of two men that behave like older and younger brother, this was the perfect book to end 2020. While this book had me laughing at times, I was also in awe with the respect and honour these two men gave to Scottish history. It was a very romantic yet bloody discussion as they travelled the highlands in the rustiest modes they could find.
