I have to sit with a group of kids, waiting for the bus, for about 20 minutes every morning. I‘ve brought various books to read to them but none have gotten their attention like this one. A mouse hero that must travel through a strange land; facing witches, dragons, giants and more. Non stop action and beautiful illustrations. I bought the whole set!

I would describe this as retro- post apocalyptic. It‘s got adventure, mystery, steampunk gadgets, AND giant bugs! One of the best stories I‘ve read in a long time (this is a trilogy) I hope he writes a sequel to it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I got this book because I love the show. This it what it‘s supposed to be based off. The only similarity is that they have portals that can take them to other planets. So, as a reference to the show- I was disappointed. But as a stand-alone book of its genre, it was worth reading.

I don‘t generally like to give bad reviews, but I barely made it through this one. The basic story line was great and well written- and that made up about a third of the book. It was so constantly being interrupted by these mind numbing scientific details, that by the time they got back to the story you forget what was going on. If I wanted a science book I would have bought one.

Not my usual genre but a really incredible book. A modern day historian accidentally gets send back to the time of the Black Plague. In our timeline a desperate scientist faces his own challenges trying to get her back. A bit of a tear jerker but I couldn‘t put it down

ImperfectCJ My kids and I read Willis's Bellwether together and loved it. This one's on my TBR. If it's a tearjerker, it's probably a little different from Bellwether, which we found hilarious, but I like crying, too. 7mo

An epic fantasy that tells a completely new story. A complex and fast paced story line with realistic characters. A queen in peril, good dragons against evil dragons, a damsel who turns out to be a knight. I couldn‘t put it down!!!

Nath Dragon returns to save the world again. Where dragons are hero‘s and fairies are evil and giants want to rule world. Lots of action. A huge variety of magical critters. Add a sprinkle of humor and a pinch of romance.

The tale of a dragon prince that walks the world as a man, trying to earn his wings. Having all ten books together in one place is great! Individually they are kind of short, but as a set it makes for a great read.

If you‘ve read The Stand by Stephen King, you‘ll want to read this one too. They have many similarities but are not the same story, I actually liked this one better

Reggie I hope you read some of his other ones. A Boy‘s Life, Stinger, The Border. I love MacCammon. He‘s so good!!!! I was actually thinking about this book the other day because someone mentioned a mark of evil and said what would be the opposite. And for some reason I thought of the main girl in here who touched the trees and they grew fruit. 9mo
Shaneyney @Reggie yes I‘ve read many of his books. I actually like him better than Stephen King. My favorites (along with this one) are Bethany‘s Sin and The Fall of the House of Usher (based on the old Poe story) 9mo

Thrift stores are the best places to get books! This lot cost me $22

Sweetkokoro Lovely haul! I would buy my books from my local thrift stores but everyone I have been to writes the price with a black permanent marker on either the side or cover and that ruins it for me. 9mo
Shaneyney @Sweetkokoro that‘s messed up! Have you said anything to them? 9mo
Sweetkokoro I tried asking one once and they just shrugged it off and didn‘t have an answer for me. The thrift stores in my area aren‘t really the best. 9mo

I never used to listen to audio books, I kind of thought that was cheating and not really reading. Now that I spend 2 hours a day driving back and forth to work, this is the only way to get my book fix. So this is my current “read”. About a dragon who takes the form of a man to save the world. It‘s a little corny, but I‘m enjoying it anyway.

As I‘ve sorted my library I‘ve set all the duplicates aside so that I can make a free library. I think this is a cool design, but maybe to complicated. Does anybody else have a free library? Send me some pictures so can can come up with a design plan. It HAS to be able to withstand high winds

Remember the old story of a British girl who saw real fairies and took pictures of them? Well this book is making fun of that. This is the journal of a little girl who is studying the fairies, and pressing them between the pages of the book like flowers. You must have a sense of humor because their are lots of drawing of squished fairies, but I found it quite amusing. 😈
