Loved this! A truly honest story of growing up being a little different, not always being perfect and the struggle of the expectation to conform to gender stereotypes. Highly recommend. #autobiography #memoir #comedy

I loved this venture into the Crime genre from Mr King. Can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy. #stephenking #mrmercedes #crime #read
Every religion lies. Every moral precept is a delusion. Even the stars are a mirage. The truth is darkness, and the only thing that matters is making a statement before one enters it. Cutting the skin of the world and leaving a scar. That‘s all history is, after all: scar tissue.

I feel like this book was tailor made for me and it quickly became one of my favourites. It is packed with 80's video game and pop culture references that I personally could really relate to. The ideas of escapism through technology being taken to a whole new level and the threat of an evil large corporation really captures the zeitgeist of the way the world is possibly heading. I highly recommend ✴✴✴✴✴

I heard such good things and was not disappointed. loved Melanie's character and that ending! wow!
"Death and ruin is man‘s preferred ecosystem. Did you ever read about the bacterium that thrives in volcanoes, right on the edge of boiling rock? That‘s us. Humanity is a germ that thrives on the very edge of catastrophe"
Really enjoyed this one @joe_hill never disappoints. The audiobook was wonderfully performed by Kate Mulgrew. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I can‘t help thinking that we‘re more than the sum total of our choices, that all the paths we might have taken factor somehow into the math of our identity"
This book took me on an adventure through different realities and impossible situations unlike anything I have read. Suspenseful, fast paced and ludicrously brilliant.
I do have a little issue with the ending but it doesn't detract from the immensely enjoyable story. #DarkMatter
A little bedtime reading. #booktober #fallasleepreading
Gaiman is so good at telling an imaginative, scary but beautiful story from the perspective of a child. This truly was a modern day fairy tale. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Neilgaiman
Loved this book. the attention to detail to 1950/60s America was amazing. The amount of research that must have gone into writing it is staggering. I found myself caring less about the event that the book is centred around; although the build up is suspenseful, and more about the characters and the love story, especially towards the end of the book.
The audiobook narration by Craig Wasson was outstanding.
I was sorry to finish it.
I'm looking for a good horror novel for #scaretober but my TBR is seriously lacking in this department. I think I'm going with this but does anyone have any suggestions? 📚😱😈👹💀
Halfway through this beast.

#recommendsday I know @joe_hill has has written some great books which have recently been adapted on the big screen, but his debut is the one that sticks with me. Haunting, brilliant and genuinely scary. definitely worth a go
#somethingforsept Too many #favevillians to choose from but here's a few:
⏺Randall Flagg - Stephen King - The Stand
⏺Hannibal Lecter - Thomas Harris - Red Dragon
⏺Sauron - J.R.R. Tolkien - Lord of the rings
⏺Norman Bates - Robert Bloch - Psycho
⏺Annie Wilkes - Stephen King - Misery
⏺Patrick Bateman - Bret Easton Ellis - American Psycho
I could do another list to be fair, I do love a villain 😊
Alternating between reading the book and listening to the audiobook. Anyone else do this?

I'm always impressed by the skill of writing stories that are short in length but after each one the reader still feels like they've been on a journey in that short space of time. great read 📚🤘
