I cannot get into this book. It is slow and boring for me. It is really a bummer. I was looking forward to it. I will maybe try again in the future.

Morning reads with one of my gremlins. Starting this one today, while waiting for the next tog book.
Enjoying a little cozy reading time tonight 😊 I love the illustrations in this story!
It‘s still in progress, but I‘m mixing a little holiday stitching in with my reading of the tagged book today! 😄🦈🎄
Not feeling well today, so I‘m taking that as a sign to cozy up under a blanket and enjoy some books for the #cozyreads readathon 📚🍁
I adored this little story. It fed my inner child, sometimes that‘s just what you need.
A bit wordy, but an intriguing tale of the Impassable Wilderness in the center of the city of Portland. It was fun to read a ‘fairy tale‘ set in my town.
Just started reading Wildwood. I am absolutely in love with the cover art
My first #d100 of the month was pretty good. I enjoyed the idea of a fairy-tale wood just outside Portland, filled with bandits, coyote soldiers, and a parliament of fowl. The central story, Prue‘s quest to recapture her brother Mac from an evil queen bent on controlling the wood, was well-constructed but felt a little long. There‘s nothing new here, but the pieces come together well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just couldn't. It occurred to me that I was avoiding opening this book. I rarely bail on a book and force myself to slog through, ironically the road from here to Portland is nicknamed the slog...
I was about to read my library book, but I can't concentrate. You'd think I could hold it together until I finish the book, but the damage is too distracting. I should be able to repair it myself, but I have no skill. I always make it worse. I'll have to return it. Fortunately, I was able to download it to my Kindle.
So a really cute adventure I would recommend this to any middle school children 📖😋
Starting this now 📖😋
#Bookoutlet #BookHaul from boxing day sale! 1/3.
Paperback stack 1.
Sure hope Wildwood is good cuz I bought all 3.😜
You ever buy a series without reading it first?
Some interesting world building, but it could have used a good editor--the whole thing just moved rather slowly. Also, Labyrinth did the girl-going-into-magical-world-to-rescue-baby-brother plot better.
PopSugar Reading Challenge 2019: a book written by a musician (Colin Meloy is the singer/songwriter for the Decemberists)
😂😂😂😂😂
3/4 walks done for the #bookfitnesschallenge! This is a trail called Cascading Waters located conveniently near my workplace. It‘s gorgeous this time of year: brand-new leaves unfurling & falling falls. I feel #blessed to live in New England in the springtime (if not during that other season that shall go unnamed).
I also feel #blessed to work someplace where a Sasquatch-riding-a-unicorn t-shirt (+ a blazer) is considered appropriate attire.
Funny story:
While I‘ve never read “Wildwood,” I‘ve *owned* it forever! I picked up the ARC while working at my local, indie bookstore. I brought it home & my husband read it & LOVED it. Later, when she was old enough to fully appreciate it, my bunny DEVOURED it. Literally. I clearly needed a new copy. 😅 I promise I‘ll keep this one on a higher shelf!
@ValkyrieAndHerBooks Have you played Illimat (The Decemberists‘ board game)? It looks so cool!
Not bad so far, (25%), but not super captivating either. It feels like Narnia, if Aslan were a bureaucratic paper pusher. Really hoping it improves.
#50KReadingLifeGiveaway @Mitch
Thank you so much for doing this awesome giveaway! 😊
The five words I would use to describe my reading life are....
Coffee-fueled ☕
Cozy 📚
Fantastical 🐉
Candlelit 🔥
Adventurous 🚂
Thanks again & congratulations on the milestone 😄
Reading while the kids swim! I love vacation!
#popsugar2018 #takesplaceinmystate
Oh this was so cute! I got a bit of Narnia vibes at the start. I love how much the mc loves her brother and as always, I'm a ducker for books with prophecies
My second roll for the game board contest is Middle Grade! Thankfully my hold for this just came in so I'll start the audiobook when I can't physically be reading The Iron Flower
@GondorGirl Thanks for this great giveaway!! And congrats on your milestone!🎉 #GG40k
I really love this illustration from Wildwood, which is one of my favorite books
Been told these are awesome, so I grabbed the boxed set (on a trustworthy reference). It‘ll be fun to see how they stand up to the hype I‘ve gotten. :)
Just started this one today. And by just started I mean I‘m 6 pages in and the main character, Prue, is a sarcastic beast and I love her. Please don‘t change 500+ pages later. Also, I love The Decemberists and I‘ve had this on my shelf, for a long time, and never connected it was THAT COLIN MELOY. 🤷♀️🤦♀️😂
The American fairytale I‘ve always wanted. It pairs well with Stillwater Artisanal Stateside Saison, pure, enjoyable, and gone faster than I realized was possible (it‘s a long book y‘all, I expected it to take way longer than 3 days to read)
A beautifully illustrated magical series reminiscent of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Wizard of Oz. Wildwood is a wonderful middle grade fantasy series that is everything that makes the genre one of my favorites.

Book haul from the used bookstore.
5⭐️!! First book to complete in 2018! This was my book club‘s December pick, and I finished it just in time for tomorrow‘s meeting! With 541 pages, it was quite a lot to do in the small amount of time I left myself to read it, but it was a good story overall! Will finish the series sometime this year.
BOOKISH GOALS for 2018:
1️⃣ Before I buy a new book, I need to read 1 book I own I haven‘t read yet ( applies to Kindle and physical books). I have a book buying problem, especially with Deals! 🙈💁♀️2️⃣Read more Kindle books that I purchased in 2017 3️⃣ When in doubt, check the Library catalog first before I buy a new book. That way if I LOVE the Library copy, and plan on rereading it, I can then buy a copy for myself. 4️⃣Rent more Audio Books!
Rereading this for school. It‘s perfect for fall. 🍂
I get to go into work late today, so I'm enjoying starting this one with my coffee! It seems like the absolute perfect book as we head into September and it pairs so well with this Trader Joe's medium roast. Tell me some of your favorite fall books! 🍁❤️🍁🍁🍁🍁❤️❤️❤️❤️🍂🍂🍂
Summer Book Club with my son.
A brew and a new book. My eldest son turns 10 tomorrow and is having his friends over for a sleepover - lots of Xbox, movies and junk food; so we're all banished upstairs!
This is alright so far, kind of REALLY reminding me of The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe.
Celebrating Independent bookstore day at The Concord Bookshop in Concord, Massachusetts! Found some awesome books. The staff are amazing and super knowledgeable. If you ever visit Massachusetts or if you live here make time to visit downtown Concord, you won't be disappointed. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #shoplocal #independentbookstores #concordmassachusetts #bookshop #loveithere
