2. Stand alone.
Yes I know the preorder was a series lolol. I take more chances on stand alones, especially if it's a trusted author. Series I'm likely to let a few come out first.

116 pages in. Don't care about the political storyline but really like the two main characters.
Unsettling and surprisingly hard-hitting for a 96 page novella.
A novella for the evening. 13 pages in and the writing is A+. Glad I also have I Was a Teenage Slasher.

I was expecting to love this book but 200 pages in and I was just honestly bored. The writing was lovely, but it felt lovely in a way that I was kept at a distance. I didn't feel anything for the characters. With so many other books that I'm looking forward to, I've learned to DNF as an act of self-care 🤣 Love that so many do adore it tho.
I finish one chonker to start another chonkier chonker.
5 stars. Fantastic story. A top read. I cried. I cheered. I LOVE MISAKI. Fully realized characters, human reactions, growth. Absolutely stunning novel. Definitely checking out Blood Over Bright Haven.
Made myself a June TBR. We'll see how much I get through.
I started this expecting it not to live up to the hype, honestly. I'm 100 pages in and so far, I'm LOVING it.
Finally finished this trilogy! It's really fantastic. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending right now and I suspect I'll be rolling it over in my brain a lot.
A mild pick. 3.5 or 3.75. I did enjoy it and it was an easy enough read. Graham Gore was a fantastic character and it had some clever writing for him. It didn't make me feel any particularly strong feelings, however. Chose it for my library's book club and can't wait to see what the other members think of it.
Coming up on the end of this series. Two sections left and I've got an inkling how it'll end, but I still wouldn't put money on it. Such a good series, though.
I just love that Ian Malcolm is allowed to have these pages long diatribes. 🙌
Time to revisit this one 🥰🥰🥰
It was.... fine. Fun. LOVED Vintage and Tormalin. Didn't care for Noon. Almost felt like she couldn't compete in terms of character interest. Would have loved MORE done with her personality. But the plot was also just fine. So.... it was fine.
I really enjoyed the first 3 volumes but I started getting very lost in the last 3. The back end of the series got a little too off for me. A solid 3 out of 5, though.
1. Anxiety is a little high and I'm dealing with plantar fasciitis, apparently.
2. Staycation through Memorial Day. I'm a librarian and Summer Reading is coming up fast so I'm taking 10 days to stay home, breathe, read, and take a break from people.

My haul from a Saturday at Barnes and Noble. I also got my mom 3 books 😆
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finished the duology. Yes, I sobbed. So glad I gave this story a chance. Totally worth it.
Officially on vacation. Took a trip to Barnes and Noble and picked up some much anticipated books. Now I'm diving into the second Little Mushroom book that does seem like it's going to make me cry quite a bit. Time to do nothing but read for the next 9 days ⭐️🥰
There were virtually no people on the stairs, or perhaps there were only a handful of people rushing about--fewer than usual.

This is a duology and this review is for the first book but omg. I loved it. Beginning to end. The ethics behind how humanity continues to survive an apocalyptic event. The toll of widescale killing on those who must carry it out to keep others safe versus the image it creates for the survivors. Seeing all of it from the perspective of a character who is NOT human, but not a monster either. I just loved this. Reading the second ASAP.
My lil buddy here is gonna be helping me through the rest of this book. It's gonna take a lot of deep breathing and to not just be teary-eyed while reading.
10 volumes of detective mystery and a woman who can hear lies. Not my fave detective manga--that's Don't Call It Mystery-- but really solid and doesn't drag out until it's uninteresting.
Spending down time today reading the last three vols of Usotoki Rhetoric and this book. It's been VERY interesting so far and much different from other danmeis Ive read (I haven't read that many yet).
With 6ish days left. We'll see how much I can read tomorrow.
I'm now 13 volumes into Naruto and it honestly has no business being as good as it is. Love it when people make quality media aimed toward youth that takes on deeper topics.

Not showing the covers cause even the covers are messed up. They're just larger versions on what's on the spine. It feels weird to rate this series highly but it is a really good version of what it's meant to be. One is a stalker and the other is a serial killer who takes his own stalker prisoner. Just about every trigger imaginable shows up in here and the complete 8 vols took me a while to get through just cause of content. Not for everyone.
I feel like the Captain would've loved Trump. 😑
I first read this for a uni class and, because we we had about a week and a half to read and discuss it, didn't pay a ton of attention to ENJOYING it.
After taking a step back from analyzing everything I read for academia, I'm slowly going back to rereading some classics I read back then. Some I have hated (side eye to Moll Flanders) but this one I'm really enjoying. It's entertaining as hell and has outrageous characters. And the HAIR. GAWD.
On the one hand, I'm glad this book exists for those who've enjoyed it.
On the other hand, this is not for me. It's not even the smut this time... it's that I probably shouldn't be LAUGHING at it. Once the Christian Gray (grey?)-esque stuff started, I couldn't take it. Another one for pango.
I think I'll be giving up on this series. There are some things in the story that bug me and a particular thing that I'm finding fairly triggering as I continue on. It's otherwise cute and includes interesting recipes.
