I was lucky enough to see the phenomenal stage version of this story over the weekend, and it was the inspiration I needed to finally conquer this beast. Plus, this gorgeous Penguin Clothbound edition doesn‘t hurt!

DivineDiana It is beautiful! 📚 6y
violabrain I loved loved loved this book! Way better than the stage version (which I also love). Enjoy! 6y

Favorite Sister | Jessica Knoll

Pickpick

There‘s this sinister, kind of queasy nastiness in Jessica Knoll‘s books that is so unlike other authors and that makes her books so hard to shove into a category—chick lit, thriller, etc. It feels like finding out the dirty truth you‘re not sure you wanted to know, but can‘t look away from. This was a great read.

I had to hide in my office because I was sobbing over this book. What a beautiful heartbreaker this was.

TricksyTails Aww... This looks so cute. I may need to read this much later. Way too emotional for now. 6y

ReadingRover I read this a few weeks ago. It‘s my favorite graphic novel ever. I freakin loved it. It was like reading my own love story to my dog. I cried like a baby too at the end. 6y

1. Cranberry sauce. It‘s not sauce, it‘s jello, and it‘s WEIRD.
2. Mystery
3. Probably Instagram!
4. 7 animal babies! Three dogs—Jasper, Finn, and Biscuit—and four cats—Dixie, Josie, Georgia, and Dexter. They don‘t all live together, though
5. Will do!

Cinfhen If you want to try my recipe for jellied cranberry sauce mixed with fresh apples and a delicious crumb topping let me know 😋😋😋 6y
kattykattykins @Cinfhen I love ANYTHING with a crumb topping! 🤤 6y
Cinfhen Not home but will share 6y
Melissa_J If it‘s jello-like you‘re definitely eating the wrong kind of cranberry sauce 😂Homemade with orange is lovely, and looks absolutely nothing like jello 👌🏻 6y

Manhattan Beach: A Novel | Jennifer Egan
post image

Part of my job as a librarian is selecting and managing our (pretty large) book club in a bag collection. In an effort to better serve patrons, I decided to read all 260 titles my county offers. I've already read 73 on my own. Here's what I've got on my shelves, which is going to make up my reading list for the foreseeable future. First up: Manhattan Beach, a brand-new addition.

"Yes, but I'm worried I will leave grad school and no longer be able to speak English. I know this woman, a friend of a friend, and just listening to her talk is scary. The semiotic dialectics of intertextual modernity. Which makes no sense at all. Sometimes I feel that they live in a parallel universe of academia speaking academese instead of English and they don't really know what's happening in the real world."
