My mind wandered throughout this book. Sometimes the story would grab my attention and other times I would be so distracted that I had no idea what was going on- but I also wasn‘t invested enough to go back and figure it out. #bookdump4

My attention would wander throughout this book. But overall I enjoyed the stories of the different animals, the different and sometimes creative methods of control, as well as the author‘s dedication to research, history, and her “feet on the ground” method throughout. #bookdump3

Much tamer than the tv series- I couldn‘t finish it (#delicateflower). Still very disconcerting and worrisome. I didn‘t expect it to end so abruptly and kind of wanted it to continue on. #bookdump2

I really liked this book. I learned a lot about the matrifocal societies and the atrocities of war- even if I did have to stop reading and google some info to help me better understand their story. 👍🏻👍🏻

Oof. This was a long one. I listened to it at 1.25 speed and it still took 16 hours 😥. This was recommended to me by a friend, otherwise I probably never would have picked it up. I liked it, I learned a lot. But like a lot of contemporary autobiographies I felt that there was a lot of name dropping and minute details that I didn‘t need to know.

I really liked this book!! Unexpected farm life. Sweet animals. Sad situations. Perseverance. Delicious sounding recipes sprinkled throughout. 😁😁😁

I really enjoyed the whole trilogy. With every book, I found it more and more difficult to get through the portions of the books that were explanatory. I wanted to get to the ACTION! And yes, I still want to be a witch and live in the woods when I grow up. #lifegoals

I liked parts of the book. 🙂 I didn‘t like parts of the book. 🙁 I thought some parts were pointless, or off track (?). 🙄Some of it was funny.😂 Some of it was difficult subject matter.😬🥶 I would love a book about Lev, Kolya, and Vika‘s lives after the war. 😍 That would be something to read. 👏🏻🤓📚

💚🧙‍♀️💚 Fairy tales. Twists and turns. Sword fights. Demons and Spirits. This audiobook had me sitting in my car wondering “how late can I walk into work and not be noticed.” I kind of can‘t wait to read/listen to book three.

I think this is the 2nd book i have been able to finish since COVID hit. This year has been more difficult that I thought! I enjoyed it. Very interesting overall, but my favorite section was about Legacy. Feuds in Kentucky, plane crashes, and middle schoolers...

Amazingly, this is the first book i have finished since everything shut down and I have been at home. It was a good story, easy read, happy ending, and rumor has it that Tom Hanks will be starring in the movie at some point.

Basically he talked about his adventures in house hunting, home ownership, and made fun of (admittedly zany) characters he met along the way. Every once in awhile he **just knew** something was going to happen. Bleh.

I appreciated the parallel storylines and the happy endings for both. 💚💚While it felt like I couldn‘t put this book down it took me forever to get through it!!🤷🏻‍♀️

Cool premise. But it became predictable.

I loved the character of Count Rostov. I would have loved a whole book focused more on the main character. But the chapters with lots of references to Russian history started to make my eyes glaze over. The Count is lovely and sweet and I was impressed with how he “mastered his circumstances” many times over the years. He is someone I would have liked to have known. 💚

I was hesitant to start this book (I bought it a few months ago) but i was up very late every night reading to see what happened next. Followed by many snooze buttons in the morning. 👍🏻👍🏻😴

I enjoyed this book! Usually i lose interest in memoirs after i have read about 2/3 of the book. But this one kept my interest all the way through. He has lead an interesting life and he talking about many different topics, which helped to keep my attention!

Read this for a book club at work. Very interesting story and a quirky beginning to her long career in code breaking.

My parents helped me nerd out this week by stopping at this #littlefreelibrary in Detroit! It was huge, btw. Whoever made it, painted the inner set of doors to look this the inside of the TARDIS. You slide the inner set of doors open to get to the books! It was pretty frickin‘ cool. 😃😎📚💚 @Wife

Big twist at the end, and not the twist I was expecting!

This story had me shaking my head, muttering outloud, and exclaiming “Oh my god” or “unbelievable” during car rides when I listened to it. Some of it was difficult to listen to and it just reaffirms the fact that you never really know what someone is living.

I think the relationships in this book made me love it so much. Between humans and animals, humans and humans, young and old. As in any relationship there are moments of joy and pain, growth and loss. This book explores all of it and more! 💚🐙💚

Audio-walking on this hot, hot afternoon. Needed a break from the sun for a few minutes, but the breeze and shade is so nice that I think I have been sitting here for close to 45 minutes! Also- this book is fascinating! 🦆🐓🦃🦜🦢🦚

I heard they were making a HBO show based on a book called His Dark Materials. So I hunted down the book and learned it was a trilogy. When I was done reading it, I noticed it was a Young Readers book. I felt like it was “a bit much” for a young reader. My next thought was “HBO is making a show based on a YOUNG READERS book???” 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

This story was extraordinary. Made even more interesting by the fact that the author is an expert on brains and mental illness- and she began to experienced symptoms of mental illness- and then could remember and EXPLAIN to the reader what was going on in her body!!! I mean, whoa. The epilogue almost got me 😥😥

I really enjoyed listening to this book. A lot of lightbulbs went off as I noticed similarities between the author and my thought processes and behaviors. The book is making me reconsider the way i live and think!

Imagine being stuck in traffic, laughing so hard you are crying, and wondering what all of the other people in their cars are thinking about you. That was this book. From start to finish.

I was excited to read this book. I wanted to like this book. But it was a frustrating read. I feel like I know more about William Randolph Hurst, Walt Disney, and SFX departments than I do about Milicent Patrick.
