Here's a better picture of my TBR for today's Dewey's 24-Hour #Readathon . . .

Upper left: my reading buddy - slightly sleepy as it's the middle of the night - with the two print books I hope to read.

Upper right: two audiobooks I plan to listen to, including Miniatures by John Scalzi, which I will actually start with...in 84 minutes! It will make a great "read" while doing opening questions.

Bottom: All library books I have to choose from. :-)

reader44ever Miniatures makes a great listen for when I'm doing social things because this will be my ninth listen to it this month. 😀😁😃 7y
reader44ever This will be my fourth attempt at The Chimes by Charles Dickens. I recently read the Kindle edition so I am hopeful of understanding it this time. 😕🙄🤔 7y

Here are all of the library books I have to choose from for the April 2017 Dewey's 24-Hour #Readathon

I think I will try to read Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs first, though my actual first book will be an audiobook. I want to re-listen to The Chimes by Charles Dickens. This will be my fourth attempt at it, but I recently read the Kindle edition so I am hopeful of understanding it this time. :-)

This was a pretty good story somewhat ruined by a highly unsatisfactory - for me, at least - ending.

I listened to the audiobook version of The Husband's Secret on March 29-30. I gave the story 3.5 "good" stars in my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1956731676

⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the narrator/reader ?

For me, this book was not as fantastic as Because I'm Watching (book #3 in the series; this was book #1). Too many POV changes in the first couple hundred pages, and from too many people, gave it a soap opera-like vibe and kept me from really engaging with the story.

But it was a good story. I enjoyed it. I'll give it four stars and will write my full review tomorrow (or sometime this coming week, more likely).

I forgot that I was expecting a book from a Swap-Bot.com friend. It arrived today, too! (She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb.)

After seeing the phrase "absolutely, positively" on page 36 in Bitter Spirits, I am thinking that my next book needs to be a reread of one of my favorite books: Absolutely, Positively by Jayne Ann Krentz. It has been too long since I last got together with Molly and Harry. (I last read it in January of 2015. ?)

I'll have to see how I feel after finishing this book, though. My mind can be fickle. ?
