Welcome to Litsy!

This took me right out of my reading comfort zone. I don‘t generally do mystery & this one felt like it was set in the 1940‘s, although it was first published in 1987 🤔. I read it because the lovely @CarolynM bought it for me 💕.
I enjoyed some of the ribald, irreverent humour and a female protagonist living life on her terms. A #palatecleanser & something totally different, but I don‘t think I‘ll rushing out to read another any time soon.

I‘m visiting my hometown of Melbourne for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The delightful @CarolynM acted as my bookish tour guide today, taking me to some terrific bookshops and buying me a copy of the tagged book. Litsy people are the best 🙏

Some numbers I spied this morning on my walk to Carlton then into the city. Top left photo is the Russell Street entrance to the State Library. I've just noticed the numbers in the bottom left photo have been cropped out - bother! My book produced a lot of giggles this morning - everyone on the street gave me a wide berth. #LitsyWalkers

Walked into the city this morning. Beautiful day, but it has got quite hot this afternoon. Photo is the Hotel Windsor on Spring Street. For the Phrynne Fisher fans, this is where she stayed when she returned to Melbourne in the first book Cocaine Blues. #LitsyWalkers

High Street walk again this morning. Had my coffee at Kau. #LitsyWalkers

I wasn't feeling particularly energetic this morning so I did about half of my usual walk. I am thoroughly enjoying revisiting Trojan Gold with an excellent narrator (although I have a slightly different version of John's accent in my head) and no doubt making a fool of myself as I walk along giggling. Bit of a dull morning though the sun has come out now and made it a beautiful day. Did my standard walk before the cloud cover burned off. This is an old garage that has recently been converted into an art house cinema. #Litsywalkers

A warm night and a hot day ahead so my walk was early and a bit shorter than usual. Listening to a Vicky Bliss story I've read more than once, unfortunately my favourite doesn't seem to be available on audible. Picture is our local independent supermarket. #Litsywalkers
